full throttle bogging down a bit - Paulfzs - 17-02-15 title says it all.. full throttle bike bogs down but off the throttle a little its fine. could this be down to the tps being out? tps has been adjusted but not had time to test it yet. standard exhaust standard air filter. not jetted as far as im aware. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - stevierst - 17-02-15 Possibly tps. If it's not that, a good carb balance will do it the world of good. It has some funny effects on engine behaviour carbs being out. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - BBROWN1664 - 17-02-15 get the carbs balanced and reset the TPS once you have done that. Assuming the air filter is clean you will notice a difference but not as much as a freer flowing pipe and K&N would add. FZS600's do not need rejecting with any (or all) of the mods mentioned above. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Paulfzs - 17-02-15 tps done carbs balanced today so much more responsive but still bogging down a little at full throttle :/ Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Fazerider - 17-02-15 TPS and carb balancing has a big effect at small throttle openings, getting them right makes the bike much smoother at low speeds... not much effect higher up the rev range though. A new air filter might help. How many miles does it have on it? I've a pet theory that the carb slides start to lose their teflon coating by about 50,000 miles. This means they can jam if the throttle is opened suddenly causing the bike to bog down, but if the throttle is opened gently the slide has more of a chance to move before the vacuum causes it to stick. Really need to poke a camera into the airbox to see if this explanation holds water though. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Paulfzs - 17-02-15 the engines at 23,000 but the carbs will be 44k+ as far as im aware its the original carb. i dont think it bogged down on the old 1999 engine though the 03 engine does seem tons faster but not at full throttle. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - unfazed - 17-02-15 Did you check the air filter????? :rolleyes Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Frosties - 17-02-15 Possible coil pack due to the extra load...... Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - unfazed - 17-02-15 Or the Rectifier/regulator, but he needs to check the normal service items first. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - unfazed - 18-02-15 Any chance of paying out on a new Air filter, :lol :lol :lol Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Paulfzs - 19-02-15 (18-02-15, 06:57 PM)unfazed link Wrote:Any chance of paying out on a new Air filter, :lol :lol :lol ordered it today ![]() Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - unfazed - 19-02-15 :thumbup :lol Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - thunderpantz - 27-02-15 I'd be inclined to check the plug caps. I had the same issue with mine, where at full chat about mid way through the rev range it would feel as if I'd hit a puddle of treacle. Ease off the throttle to about 3/4 and is fine. Changed the plug caps to some NGK SD05F and the problem is gone. Very happy me :rollin Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - darrsi - 27-02-15 (27-02-15, 08:52 AM)thunderpantz link Wrote: I'd be inclined to check the plug caps. I'm new to the site but I had the same issue. Bought my fzs600 last week and it would not open up past half throttle. If I eased off it would come up to speed eventually but if I went past half throttle it was like I'd hit a wall. Anyways today I pulled the carb out and noticed a rattle. After opening up the float bowls I noticed in 3of the 4 bowls all the jets had fallen out. I mean off completely. Surprised it's been moving at all. Anyway I put it all back together and took it for a spin. Revs all the way under load now. I'd say it still could do with the carbs balancing but the main issue is fixed. Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - Disorderlypunk - 19-07-17 £222 for 4 oem plug caps - great now i have to clean up the soggy toast i spat out in shock across my laptop Re: full throttle bogging down a bit - darrsi - 19-07-17 (19-07-17, 01:12 PM)Disorderlypunk link Wrote: £222 for 4 oem plug caps - great now i have to clean up the soggy toast i spat out in shock across my laptop That was 2 years ago. £230.24 now on AJ Sutton website. |
