Tyre time... - helmetvonthrob - 24-01-15 Now that I've FINALLY bought my Fazer, and it does need tyres, I've seen Maxxis Diamonds (MA3DS) described as Sport/Touring. Anyone used these? Re: Tyre time... - noggythenog - 24-01-15 Stevie on here swears by them (stevius maxxisus) and he used them on his FZ1 Im gonna try them out next. Mixed reviews but then thres are a personal choice but i dont think youll go far wrong. Re: Tyre time... - AMW - 24-01-15 I use Dunlop Sportmax RoadSmart great all round tyre especial for winter commuting. Re: Tyre time... - Exupnut - 24-01-15 Not sure how to explain but it's similar to why I'd rather have a shit job than a wife.... After 10 years the job still sucks....hope that helps Re: Tyre time... - red98 - 24-01-15 Mmmmmmmm.....I'll have to think about that for a while.. :lol Re: Tyre time... - Grahamm - 24-01-15 I've been using Bridgestone 023s for a while now and although I'm not one for pushing them to the limit, I've found them perfectly satisfactory. It's currently got 020s on it and the rear is a bit squared so it's not a tomorrow job to get new tyres but soon. The prev. owner didn't rate them and I've only had limited motorway exposure so far. I did have a pair of 023s on my GSXR 750 and they were pretty epic. Re: Tyre time... - chaz - 25-01-15 I changed from 020's to maxxis super diamond and can't fault them, get more miles and they cost less £185 a pair compared to £230 a pair. At the end of the day it's down to personal choice. I've just had a look and it seems that Bridgestone is replacing the 023s with their new T30 tyre... Re: Tyre time... - stevierst - 25-01-15 The maxxis diamonds are a massively underrated tyre, had 3 sets now on 150+bhp bikes. And I'm not polite to tyres, just ask anyone who's ridden with me. My bro-in-law was convinced to get a set on his Tuono II factory which is a godlike bike in the handling department. He is now a convertee, and an awesome road rider. He can't fault them either! The haters will always hate, but most of them can't open their eyes wide enough to see beyond the popular brands. They end up like this even after 3500 hard-core miles! (other brands mainly lasted sub 3k) Re: Tyre time... - Grahamm - 25-01-15 It does also depend on how you ride, of course. I've had 9,000 miles out of a Bridgestone 023 rear... Re: Tyre time... - stevierst - 26-01-15 Don't know how you guys do it. I only get 5500-6000 out of my rear on the Thundercat, and she's a 10k/annum commuter! Every credit to your high mileage wear rate!! Re: Tyre time... - Grahamm - 27-01-15 (26-01-15, 04:28 AM)stevierst link Wrote: she's a 10k/annum commuter! That could well be a big part of it. A large proportion of my miles are done for fun with a lot of twisty bits, so rather than wearing down the centre of the tyre and having it square off, the wear gets spread evenly across most of the width of the rubber. Also, of course, I don't tend to rag it or brake hard which may help too. Re: Tyre time... - fazed - 05-02-15 I have to say as an all round tyre I've found the Dunlop roadsmarts on my fazer 1000 give a solid planted feel with an easy 'turn in' and handles 2 up well - like people say depends on your riding style and how much performance you use how much of the time.......
