I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - adeejaysdelight - 15-01-15 This is the first forum I ever joined, and although I have only met a few of you, I feel like I know you all. Anyway, as I am going to view an Aprilia Tuono at the weekend, so I joined a Tuono forum to ask the guys n gals there is they have any advice for me or if there was anything I should look out for. After a few reply's to my post, I started to have this overwhelming need to come on here and confess. I AM SORRY. I am not selling my Fazer and won't be going anywhere. However, IF I buy the Tuono I will be taking the Fazer off the road to do some Major works to it, so I will still be looking for advice and talking shite with the best of them. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - dazza - 15-01-15 Admin, can you lock this thread. ![]() Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - mickvp - 15-01-15 Where's that ban hammer gone :rollin Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - Exupnut - 15-01-15 How VERY VERY dare you Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - darrsi - 15-01-15 What did they say, "Have you thought about trying a Fazer?" Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - darrsi - 15-01-15 It's a bit like telling the missus "I'm just popping over to Amsterdam at the weekend to do some window shopping." :lol Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - Nightfury - 15-01-15 Hang your head in shame!! That is one heavy bike, full of fuel and with me sat on it it would be over 300Kg!!!! Or maybe I'm just chunky. I think I should go window shopping to make myself feel better! ![]() Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - stevierst - 15-01-15 Be careful! That's one fruity bike. Nearly got spat off my bro-in-law's Tuono a few weeks ago with the mother of all tankslappers! God himself only knows how I survived..;D Great machine though if you can bear v-twins and patchy Italian reliability. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - noggythenog - 15-01-15 I know what you mean Adee, Foc-u is a great place & full of good eggs & the help is second to none. Part of its charm is that it is so simple I think. Sounds ridiculous but foc-u was the main reason I decided to stay in the fold but life goes on & bikes change & the saddest thing is that Yamaha didn't keep the fazer brand alive with their new machines. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - bigralphie - 15-01-15 I am probably on the same Tuono site lol I browse a few forums but I have met more people on here in the real world than any other Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - adeejaysdelight - 15-01-15 Tuonozone is my bit on the side :lol . And funnily enough, I am going to Amsterdam myself in may! Its on the way to the ring, you understand. And the ferry goes there. S'not my fault. Complain to DFDS (just incase the wife checks my browser history). I heard the Tuono is a beast. I fancy a big twin for a change. And the Fazer is nearly at 40,000 miles. It seems the bearings are coming to an end. I have done the wheel bearings. Now the steering head is away. I might as well use it as an opportunity to change the swingarm set too. Get the engine out. Powdercoat the frame. Re-paint the engine. Service the carbs and fix anything else that needs it. My "new" garage will be ready in the spring and I plan to use it. Every other project bike I have done has had a time limit. This time I'm giving myself a year and another bike to use in the meantime. That other bike might as well be something I fancy. And I can enjoy it and move it on in 12 months. Hopefully without too much of a loss. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - Rexr - 15-01-15 If ur going down this route of the tuono make sure it's had the brown connectors sorted as they can burn out leaving u stranded....it's a common problem with these bikes.....(ex tuono owner) http://www.joe250.com/motorcycles/tuono/brownconnectors/brownconnectors.html Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - Millietant - 15-01-15 No reliability issues with the Aprilia to worry about - are you going for an early one pre '04, a post '04 model, or a V4 Touno? I love my RSV - most of its miles have put on at the Nurburgring (nearly 20k), with no breakdowns, no failures nor anything broken (except when I fell off :o ) and only standard servicing - and if we didn't already have the Fazer's and the FJ 12, I'd be very tempted by a V-twin Touno as well. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - fazed - 15-01-15 Understand the appeal of Vtwins too. I've got an SV1000 suzuki as a complement to the fazer thou' (gen1) - a lot of fun but different to that 4 cylinder feel and as they say variety is the spice of life!! I think that if we could afford a stable of bikes we'd all have our own set.....mine would include the road version of the RG500 just for the wail and the smell and a 350 yam too as well as a Triumph Trident 885cc model - trouble is the list just goes on and on!! Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - taylor - 15-01-15 wel well, what is the world coming to. :eek Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - adeejaysdelight - 15-01-15 WARNING - PROFANITY IS FUCKING RIFE IN THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE!!! So, last weekend I had arranged to go see the bike this coming weekend, on Saturday afternoon. We had agreed a price on the phone (his price, I may add). I had sorted my finances with the bank. I arranged a lift with my mate (200 mile round trip, and he booked the afternoon off). I provisionally arranged insurance. And I walked down to the bank today in the worst rain I have seen for ages... Then the prick messages me at 5pm to say "the bike sold the day - MATE". FUCKING MATE. FUCKING MATE. YOU FUCKING CUNT-HOLE. I HOPE KARMA DESTROYS HIS BUTTON HOLE FOR HIM. :grumble :grumble :grumble Bit harsh? I don't think so. Fucking Fife'ers. There all the same. Never trust a Fife'er. :wall :wall :wall :finger Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - Yamazer-92 - 15-01-15 "I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!!" This shite weather is messing about with my head too, I now have a strange and strong interest in the original Bandit 1200?!?! I mean, to the point where I have looked up several reviews and had a scout on ebay.... Great value for money though and I love the thought of getting a completely standard one and making it into an actual nice, non halfrauds bolt on tat, bruiser. Not one with some random sport bike rear end bolted on at a stupid angle. What's happening to me... I had to say 10 hail Mary's and an our foccer who art in heaven for every one I clicked on. Oi i'm a fifer :grumble Bang outta order though, a mans word should always be kept, tbh if he did that to you then its probably just as well you didnt buy the bike coz if you cant trust him to keep his word then you cant trjst anything else he says. Re: I feel like I'm cheating on you guys!!! - adeejaysdelight - 15-01-15 Sorry Noggy, I've had a Radox bath and an hours sleep in there. The sleepy one, sleepeasy I think its called. The point is, I know not all fifers are cunt-holes. Just most of them. Your definitely one of the good three :thumbup . No offence meant mate, I had to let it out though or it would have manifested itself in some other way. Perhaps some poor bugger gets a bollocking in the cue in Aldi or something.
