So, what's the old bike worth...? - pointer2null - 12-01-15 Continuing on a changing bike theme, whats the old one worth? The details: Mk1 Fazer 600 S Reg (Jan 1999). Engine is good, new chain and sprockets + front tyre in 2014. Stainless steel downpipes, pure rust end can (original, leaks but always passes mot "Exhaust leaking but not excessively noisy"). Acumen Cat 1 alarm. Double bubble windshield. Oxford heated grips. Tatty givi rack (no box). Headlight mod. About 50k miles. No service history, but has everything done as needed and oil & filter changed every year (about 6k miles). Dry miles only, except when it's raining. Cosmetically it's in need of some TLC - a few scratches here and there etc. No pic at the moment as it's dark and pissing down. Not sure whether to part-ex it or sell private. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - Gingernutz - 12-01-15 600 sorry not good news I know. That was what I got file mine- 10 k more miles but 2002 foxeye Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - pointer2null - 12-01-15 600 was what the dealer offered. Just curious is I could get more private. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - slimwilly - 12-01-15 (12-01-15, 07:56 PM)Gingernutz link Wrote: 600 sorry not good news I know. If private took a month and got you 700 after ten messers have poised you off promising and not showing is it worth it? Is never going to be worth much more Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - pointer2null - 12-01-15 I'll probably end up doing the same. Shame really as the bike is quite good. Most annoying is I had to put new chain, sprockets and battery on it in the last few months of 2014 and feel like I haven't got my money's worth yet. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - BBROWN1664 - 12-01-15 If you take the alarm off, I will give you £500. If you want to leave the alarm on there, £450. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - pointer2null - 12-01-15 :rollin Bloody thing is a pain I must admit. And who takes any notice now of a car/bike (false) alarm going off? No one I suspect. I don't even look, just close the window/door to stop the noise. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - Dead Eye - 13-01-15 If you were willing to hang on and weren't in a rush to sell, I reckon you could get £800+ for it privately if it is in good condition. More than anything I think its the mileage that will hurt the price. I bought mine for £750~ 2 years ago and its in pretty bad condition with more miles so... Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - His Dudeness - 13-01-15 I'd say around 900. 600 is a bit of a give away if it's a solid bike with good tyres, battery, c&s etc. Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - Tmation - 13-01-15 Unless you have someone ready to buy it cash, just PX it. We are only talking a couple of hundred quid, not thousands, not worth the hassle. Ride to dealer on old bike and ride home on your new one, simples ![]() Re: So, what's the old bike worth...? - hairnet - 13-01-15 seen scruffy ones going for 6-800 before xmas crap time to sell good time to buy try and get 700 pxing it - worth that with the fresh bits on it |
