Re: front brake switch - Jules-C - 08-01-15 I've replaced mine twice in 15 years. First replacement only lasted about a year but the second one still working fine after about 5 years. Since genuine ones are relatively cheap I didn't bother looking elsewhere. Re: front brake switch - king1 - 12-01-15 I tried genuin and after market, they are all sh1te at the moment i have what is left of the last one just danging from the handlebar i think i will replace it in July for mot Re: front brake switch - Fazerider - 12-01-15 My OE one lasted reasonably well (14 years), but the bike's under cover at both ends of my usual journey, so has an easier life than yours by the sounds of it. I did try an aftermarket one, but that failed within a few months from corrosion and the spring inside being too feeble... I kept repairing it but recently gave up and replaced it with a second-hand genuine one off ebay. I was going to attempt to make a solid-state replacement using a magnet embedded in the lever, but decided it was more hassle than it was worth to develop.
