solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Paulfzs - 06-01-15

after tons of messing about and different lighting (except hid) ive finally found lighting which works, 20w ebay led light, came in a single unit so i will have to order another for the left side but they're pretty amazing!

Mounted to my indicator which is plenty strong enough and wired to my main beam so only comes on whilst on main.

safety nazis: it will only be used on full beam which is when cars are not coming towards me. which is safer than me seeing nothing and crashing into a school.

If you can find similar with more wattage then id go for it!

I'm liking that beam a lot, not sure if i'd trust them hanging off my indicators though.
That's a really nice beam of light, and would be excellent with 2 of them.  Smile

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Fazafou - 06-01-15

I have 2 x 10w Cree led spot lights mounted off my radiator brackets.

Work very well and I use them as 'driving lights' on permanently. As long as you angle them sensibly you shouldn't dazzle anyone.

I passed a blue (not hard to do I know) fazer yesterday which had led strips across the front of its mirrors. I have to say the look was awesome Smile

The indicators are solid.. mostly because they where epoxied to the fairing lol Big Grin the light itself is light and very stable so doesn't stress the indicators. didnt have anywhere else to put them other than under the headlights but getting a nut and bolt on is a pain and usually means front fairing off which is a 20 minute job rather than 2 minutes on the indicator.

took it for a ride to test it got the beam in a better place and my god it is amazing! with 2 this would be insane. will be ordering a 2nd one for the other side.

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - fazersharp - 07-01-15

If you have crash bars that would be a good place for them.
I have always been weary of buying things on ebay from china, and what about import tax and all that malarky, and if its a dud its too expensive to send back.
Also how waterproof are they

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - downey - 07-01-15

very good beam with lots of of lumens in fairness, but i would also wonder about its waterproofness for that price like, and would two wired in not be a problem on the battery ? ,let us know how you go with them,

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - helloindustries - 08-01-15

Impressive for the price.

Shame they aren't E-marked/road legal.

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Paulfzs - 07-02-15

So a month on, bikes left outside in the rain...
taken this out through downpours and salted roads jetwashed twice...

no problems, no light flicker no issues at all and fully waterproof!

as above, not e-marked but they're for off road use only.
much safer than hids for everyone as they are only on when there's no oncoming cars unless you're the type to ride round on full beams all the time.

not ordered my second one yet im still in debate about it, 1 is more than enough but looks silly, if i had 2 id probably end up disconecting my main beam bulb as 90w is a lot of power drain not including the 55w on the left!

2x 15w would be sufficient.

so plan of attack is to reduce the wattage of main beam bulb as much as possible maybe even an led bulb (not for brightness but looks) then fit a 2nd spotlight on left side.

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Sannox - 07-02-15

When you go back to low beam, I guess it's like all the lights were switched off after the bright high beam  :lol I have the fox eyes and still not bright, need something with more ooommmph

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Paulfzs - 08-02-15

going back to low beam i have to make sure i didnt press the wrong button and turn all my lights off lol.

These are the best budget lights ive found, obviously spend £50-£60 youll get loads better but i dont ride at night every night so its no a massive problem.

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Neon Knight - 26-06-15

Simple solution to a really annoying problem. I love it  :lol

Re: solved my fazers terrible lighting... - Paulfzs - 26-06-15

indeed, i may upgrade them at some point to 40w 2 of them and take main beam down to an led bulb for mega seeing power.
