Do me a favour though don't call it's man cave :lol Re: My new man cave - slimwilly - 02-01-15 Thats a "Kids toy shed" not for a man ![]() Red roof tiles must of been on offer :lol and the Oak,you do it or bought in? A good space though.Nice Re: My new man cave - nick crisp - 02-01-15 :eek No kettle, no fridge?! :eek FAIL! :lol Nice one Kosmic, looks like you're getting well settled. Have you got some heating in there so you can hide in winter too? Re: My new man cave - red98 - 02-01-15 lordy,lordy....thats nice :thumbup ....room for a couple more bikes in there ![]() parhaps we need a new "man cave" ( :thumbdown ) thread, show us what you got sort of thing.... Re: My new man cave - Kosmic Kartman - 02-01-15 The base, brickwork, frame and roof were done by these people. http://www.gardenbuildings.co/ I could have gone for black glazed tiles but they would have added another two grand to the bill and wouldn't have been ready until late feb as they would have had to have been ordered in especially. In reality I could have gone for a cheaper build sorting out my own groundworks, frame and roof but the thought of working with several contractors all blaming each other if something went wrong was not something I wanted to deal with, so this is done all in house. The only thing I didn't get them to do was supply doors. They wanted £1,500 for them. The frame weighs a few tonnes and I wouldn't have been able to put that up on my own. It's a lovely bit of oak wood and the building will out live me. It also had to blend in with what was there in terms of structure and space and I reckon I got that about right... except for the red pantiles :lol You could easily get six bikes in there and I'm looking forward to getting my KTM back that a mate's been looking after. Fridge? Got one... and a kettle. They're both in the house. Re: My new man cave - fireblake - 02-01-15 Ads, that looks amazing. If you were really worried about the tiles you could age them buy spreading cow dung and yoghurt on them, i kid you not. Apparently it works. But please don't beat the crap out of me next time we meet up. Mickey :rollin Re: My new man cave - Mick-H - 02-01-15 Love it Re: My new man cave - fazersharp - 02-01-15 What about putting some insulation between the timbers kingspan or the like Re: My new man cave - Doddsie - 02-01-15 Looking good. :thumbup Re: My new man cave - pilgo - 02-01-15 looking good :thumbup whens the moving in party ? :lol Re: My new man cave - adeejaysdelight - 02-01-15 Looks brill :thumbup . I love the timber beam. I am in the process of sorting my mancave out at the moment. The whole building was subsiding due to ground shrinkage (yawn). So, me and a mate fitted a storm drain, some underground pipe work and a soakaway. I can now repair the floor cracks, fill the gaps in the wall and I am going to clear everything out and paint the lot. Should be finished by the 13th. Re: My new man cave - bri h - 02-01-15 Looks good Ade when's christo moving in. Re: My new man cave - fazed - 02-01-15 If this is a real garage why is it not A) Full of randomly stored junk B) Untidy with randomly distributed tools or is that just my garage....... Where all the other shite is stored. ![]() Re: My new man cave - Millietant - 03-01-15 Nope - a real man cave has no room in it for a man - like this. It has my bikes and my junk, all in the one place, just no room for me (on the right side, but not visible in the pic, is my hi-fi system & beer fridge) ![]() Re: My new man cave - Kosmic Kartman - 03-01-15 (03-01-15, 01:28 AM)Millietant link Wrote: Nope - a real man cave has no room in it for a man - like this. Then I could accumulate even more old shit............. Oh how happy that would make my wife....... I'd really need a man cave then (she'd likely throw me out of the house) ![]() Re: My new man cave - locksmith - 03-01-15 Boys, be careful who you are showing the contents of your man caves to, I speak from experience of having mine violated :eek KK, is that the external shiplap showing on the internal walls? Will it be a tad damp and cold inside? Why have you got a glitterball you poof :lol Re: My new man cave - Kosmic Kartman - 03-01-15 (03-01-15, 10:29 AM)locksmith link Wrote: Boys, be careful who you are showing the contents of your man caves to, I speak from experience of having mine violated :eek So far it doesn't seem that bad Re: the temp. I may clad it inside if it becomes a problem. The glitter ball was given to me by a freind, Charlotte Tagg who sadly lost her life at Brighton Speed Trials a few years back. She was standing in for me on that day so the ball hangs in her memory. |
