anyone living with warfarin - devilsyam - 12-12-14 after to pe's im to go on warfarin but seems a bit hit and miss wanting bloods every two weeks is this the case? anyone been on it long term Re: anyone living with warfarin - dBfazer600 - 12-12-14 Yes this is normal. The nurse will tell you how many mg you must take depending on your blood results. In my experience people take this medication at the same time of day, usually around 1800 but talk to your nurse if you want to change this. If you have side effects contact your doctor as some can be saver, but do not stop taking your meds without consultation. There are alternatives to warfarin but again speak with your nurse. Daz Re: anyone living with warfarin - devilsyam - 12-12-14 Cheers just seems to b a unstable med as even on beer can render it useless or even fookin green veg The other options won't work with existing med hence I have to use this one Re: anyone living with warfarin - Oldgit - 17-12-14 An I thought that Warfarin was a new shoot em up game, :pc Re: anyone living with warfarin - darrsi - 17-12-14 Worth a look. ![]() http://www.impactteam.info/documents/Warfarinpthandout_000.pdf Re: anyone living with warfarin - pete786 - 18-12-14 Been on Warfarin since July 2009 and to start with I was having blood tests every week. Once they get your INR fairly stable you have to have a re-test every 4/5 weeks. I was told to watch my alcohol intake, don`t eat too much Extra Mature Cheddar cheese (my favourite) and anything with Cranberry is a definite no no . Had a test today and will probably get the result and my daily dose for the next month in the post tomorrow. My target INR is 2.5, usually comes back around 2.2 Pete. |
