What I usually do is use a big phillips screwdriver.

Attach the top part of the spring in its upper mounting point and then wedge the screwdriver on the lower mounting point on the stand with the spring hooked around the screwdriver, lever it down which will extend the spring over the stands mounting point, from there you can hook the spring over the lower mounting.

Hope that makes sense, works every time for me with stand springs.

hope im doing this right ,and it goes to the right place, not very good on computers,if you open the spring by bending it and push in 1 pence pieces on either side of the spring the whole way down it ,this will allow the spring to strech and you should be able to get spring on, then just pull out 1p or you can also use washers. i have used this method myself it can save your paintwork ,hope this helps .ps i think yuo ca n youtube this.cheers ct62

I always fit the spring on both lugs with the side stand not bolted in then you use to side stand as a lever to fit it onto the frame

Motorcycle mechanics cannot physically happen without constant streams of tea, profanities, and cheesy rock music!
