Sticking snapped mini indicators back in one - MC680x0 - 30-10-14

You know those mini indicator led types, well I snapped the stalk halfway in middle. Clean cut so  tried to stick it back together.tried 2 part epoxy, superglue, qbond, all seem to work but when I take the bike or or a 30min roadtests, the stalk is back in half again. Road vibe, wind and all that probably. They cost £40 so would like to fix if i can. Anyone done this?

As a quick fix how about a jubilee clip with some black gaffer over the top......

You could grind an edge on both sides and fill with the qbond powder and sand it flat or just fire it in the bin :lol

Don't want to waste money binning working expensive leds

Anyway, resolved issue by creating a wooden dowl that is a tight fit inside the hollow stalk and covering it in epoxy resin then tapping it half way into the stalk attached to the fairing  and then.tapping the led part over the other half the dowl
Now stronger than before

I was in two minds whether to ask you directly but erred on the side of caution to save a typically characteristic demeaning response  Big Grin :lol

I personally think you wasted money buying expensive LED indicators in the first place.
Especially with you being so passionate about road safety

Well midden...its all about knowledge and insight...
TO help you...

The Oem's were missing so I bought bright new road legal oxford leds at £40 a set.
