Deep vein thrombosis question - solorider - 03-10-14 I have Deep vein thrombosis because of my recent accident with 2 blood clots, one in the calf and one in my foot/ankle, has any of you had DVT and if so how long did it take for it to go? mine is stopping me from walking Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - His Dudeness - 04-10-14 Can't help with your question but could I ask you how you knew you had it after your accident? What were the symptoms? Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - solorider - 04-10-14 I had a lot of pain in my calf muscle, it was very tender to touch, and my leg had swelled up very badly, the skin was also red. In the accident I didn't hit my calf just the foot and lower leg/upper ankle. Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - tex - 04-10-14 my wife is a district nurse, she says you will walk again, could take a few weeks with treatment, but depends on how severe it is. tex Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - Exupnut - 04-10-14 It could also be compartment syndrome. Google it. Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - Doddsie - 04-10-14 Just to cheer you up, if a DVT dislodges, it can move up to your lungs and kill you :eek . Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - pete786.u - 05-10-14 Got myself some DVT socks as I`m going to Cuba at the end of the month and with my dicky ticker and a ten hour flight I thought it would be a good idea. Re: Deep vein thrombosis question - fireblake - 06-10-14 My Dad and sister in law both had DVT's and they both became Pulmonary embolisms, which is when it goes to the Lungs, very painful. I think they both had to have Warfarin as a treatment to thin the blood. Mickey |
