sachs shock - mick! - 28-09-14

The fz i bought to do up has or had a sachs shock on it .. Im trying to find out if it worth getting it refurbed bearing in mind i would like the spring re powder coated and the body resprayed i have found a few guys online who do this-(have emailed them today with pics) does anyone know much about this make as when i search for new a new shock for fz6 this make is never on the list.. I am having trouble posting a pic so i will add it once post is up... mick

Definitely worth a rebuild mate. They're not a common aftermarket manufacturer, but they make very good products - fitted as standard to a lot of ducatis and aprilias, and also I believe of late the BMW sports bikes!

Been quoted  around £300 for rebuild and that dosent include any painting of parts- and i would want the spring re- powder coated- so i will probably pay the extra to get a new Ohlins for 495...

THat seems a tad ott to be honest mate. Personal recommendation, FireFox racing. They used to (I would imagine still do) offer a rebuild for between £100 to £150, maybe a bit extra for powdercoating the spring
