Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - dazza - 30-08-14 Popped into my local dealer and there it was .... T reg 99 unrestricted Busa with only 5k on the clock. An itch that I've wanted to scratch for a long time now and as far as I could tell apart from braided hoses totally bog standard and unmolested. This model I think is going to be a future classic but what put me off was the lack of decals on the fairing. Always makes me suspicious when I see this and makes me wonder why they are missing. I know some people just remove them but I can never understand why. Asking Price was £3500 and was booted with conti's which made me reluctant to take it out. (unless anyone knows otherwise) As I'm looking round it, in walk's Shane Shakey Burne who starts telling me how much fun he's had on one of these and proceeds to try and talk me into it. (Didn't need that while having a weak moment). :lol I'm pretty sure in ten years time these early Busas are going to be making silly money. What do you think Foccer's ? Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - slimwilly - 30-08-14 The old, new Busas never did it for me, so no real feeling from me,,i don't really like them Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - dazza - 30-08-14 I know exactly where you're coming from Slim. I hated the styling for years, if I'm honest still not keen on it. What appeals to me is the fact that it is the last of the insane rocket ships before the EU or whoever it was made the manufacturers put a speed restriction on them. This becomes apparent when you look at the 220 mph clocks and then the styling just sorts of starts growing on me a bit. ![]() Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - chaz - 30-08-14 there seems to be plenty around, 5,800 there were 1,500 of the 99 reg dont know how many are left, need the code for that year? (www.howmanyleft.co.uk) so maybe 20 or 30 years? Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - dazza - 30-08-14 That looks a handy site Chaz. I'll see if I can get the code. Think you may be right about 20 or 30 years, don't know if I'm going to live that long. :lol Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - bigralphie - 30-08-14 Slow and ugly but I would say that :rollin Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - ogri48 - 30-08-14 I've had two gen ones and a gen two..their ace if that's what your looking for. And ukbusas is a fantastic site for info and general goodfellers. That blue and black is my fave colour too.. Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - VNA - 31-08-14 Yup def a future classic. Love em or loath em, you gotta hand it to suzuki for launching such weirdness. Are those gold wheels correct? Would you be able to hang onto your license with such a thing. Bronze me thinks will end up fetching most. Take a look at a TL1000R for some more weirdness and possible future classic. Don't think they sold many, not a patch on an R1 I guess, but still quick, beautifully weird, getting rare, sounds great and will turn heads big time. Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - bigralphie - 31-08-14 i always have a couple of TL1000 sat in my ebay watch list thinking I might be able to afford a 2nd bike.........maybe next year :'( Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - fireblake - 01-09-14 Performance bikes are updating a TL. GSXR 1000 forks and brakes and a different shock, plus upgrading the clocks too. such a great engine let down by most of the rolling chassis Mickey Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - VNA - 02-09-14 Shock is a compact rotary thingy like it's notorious predecessor the S. Wonder what they are gonna stick in there. Re: Nearly had a weak moment myself today. - fireblake - 03-09-14 They fitted a Maxton shock conversion and custom linkage, saving over 5 Kilo's in the process. Mickey |
