inline fuse for datatool alarm - markjd1 - 17-08-14 Hi All I am new to the forum. I got knocked off my bike last week ![]() Re: inline fuse for datatool alarm - spyder - 21-08-14 Yes, the starter motort is the electric starter. Have you replaced the fuse you removed? Have you checked it's working? I had my Datatool removed recently cos it appeared to be draining the battery. The local bike shop agreed and removed it, but it still discharged! Ended up replacing rectifier too. All OK now but this replace-it-and-see approach is my approach and I expected better from pros. Apparently removing the alarm requires secret knowledge available only to Datatool cognoscenti, for obvious reasons. I imagine if you disable the alarm by eg removing the fuse, you also disable starting circuits including the starter motor. If the alarm keeps triggering, it could well be faulty and you might want to think about removing it. But get a second opinion here! Re: inline fuse for datatool alarm - MC680x0 - 25-08-14 if the battery dies (low power) the system enters "Sleep" mode; your observations sound like a sleep mode; hold the button down on the transmitter and turn the ignition on whilst keeping the button down - what happens can you make the alarm enter Service Mode ? have you also tried to override using the default "0000" PIN If all the above fail to correct the problem then you probably have a bad earth to the alarm unit; if you can access the alarm I can guide you through troubleshooting but FIRST please ensure your try the above procedures otherwise troubleshooting will not work |
