tyre choice - boorat - 10-07-14 Whats tyres can anyone reccomed. I ride in all weathers and use for work which is sometimes a 150 mile round trip so need decent grip wet and dry and a decent wearing tyre...??? Re: tyre choice - mickvp - 10-07-14 Michelin Pilot Road are probably one of the best combos of everything you want in a tyre. I had PR2's and I loved them, but PR4's are out now. Re: tyre choice - Krezi - 10-07-14 Michelin pilot power 3 are winner of June 2014 motorbike test for best sports touring tyre. Paul Re: tyre choice - Neon Knight - 10-07-14 I put a pair of Michelin pilot 3's on my Gen 1 in April replacing the metzerler front and bridgestone rear combo that I had on and the difference was massive. It's like a different bike now, lovely feel and grip and not a ridiculous price either. Thumbs up. ![]() Re: tyre choice - stevierst - 10-07-14 Don't get Bt 021's, no matter how cheap they're offered, there appauling when they start to wear. Now how a about a set of Maxxis? [Stand by for the fireworks ![]() Re: tyre choice - Tmation - 10-07-14 All the top brands are good, buy a sports touring not sports tyre. Looks for whats on special offer if you want a bargain, go for the end of line when the new model comes out (PR3 not PR4). I like Dunlop Roadsmarts myself, I had PR1's and they were great until about 3/4 worn and then were horrible. Re: tyre choice - slimwilly - 10-07-14 Metzeler roadtec z8s , the manufacturers claims they have the best grip in the wet and good touring capability http://www.metzeler.com/site/uk/products/tyres-catalogue/Roadtec-Z8-Interact.html Re: tyre choice - boorat - 10-07-14 Thanks for the input guys.. neon knight thats the combo on mine at the moment. Only had the bike 5 weeks and the mez4 on the front is crap its like having slicks on in the wet.. think the pilot road 4s will be ordered tomorrow for fitting saturday Re: tyre choice - PaulSmith - 15-07-14 Hard to do much better then T30's. They really are stunningly good on the Fazer. Re: tyre choice - fazed - 16-07-14 I go along with tmation as I've found Dunlop Roadsmarts good both 1 and 2 up wet or dry and quite confidence inspiring all round with good feel to them.. Re: tyre choice - NorthWestern - 17-07-14 I have got Dunlop Qualifier 2's on at the mo - although the rear is now coming to the end of its life after ~5000miles (Gen 1 1000). They lasted pretty well, the rear kept its shape for a fairly long time then squared off quite quickly. Good in the wet as well as dry, no complaints. Not sure what to replace them with yet. Re: tyre choice - Dunky - 17-07-14 Conti road attack 2s on the gen two just fitted on wed 16/7/14 but have also fitted road attacks on the 6 when I had that and found them to be ok. Re: tyre choice - silverfz - 28-07-14 Conti road attacks on mine, but then I may not ride as fast as some of you gods!! Re: tyre choice - lew600fazer - 28-07-14 I have Conti road attacks on my FZ6 excellent in the dry cannot comment regarding wet as live in Spain. When it rains here it is best to leave the bike in the garage as the roads get really greasy. I have just fitted (300 miles) ago Perilli Angel ST's on my FZ1 so far so good. I would have fitted the Conti's to the FZ1 but the Angels were at a great price Re: tyre choice - Mick-H - 03-08-14 Metzeler roadtec z8s on mine but will be changing to Dunlop Roadsmarts in about 2000 miles time. |
