Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - slappy - 01-07-14 I have now managed to get a 2nd hand pc5 from an R1 but I am unsure about one thing. In the instructions for the R1 there is a single grey wire that is to be attached to the number 5 wire in the ecu. What I want to know is this the same on the FZ1? Has anybody fitted a pc5 from an R1 or has anybody fitted a pc5 meant for an FZ1 and it has the same grey wire to the ecu? I am wary about connecting it just in case I make a balls up! Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - slappy - 01-07-14 I have just looked on the dynojet website and the FZ1 and R1 have different fitting instructions so it seems its a no go. I had assumed the pc5 for an R1 would fit as it is basically the same engine and all I would have to do is download a suitable map for an FZ1 into it. Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - slimwilly - 01-07-14 I think the PC5 is correct but for later versions of the FZ1s ,,early ones use the PC3 as i understand... That does seem to be true so I will sell the pc5, I have wasted enough time trying to find a 2nd hand unit to fit so I will do what I should have done in the first place and buy a brand new power commander! That will teach me to try and save money. Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - slimwilly - 01-07-14 You will sell it on here easy,as long as its got the yamaha plugs Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - chaparral02 - 01-07-14 (01-07-14, 07:07 AM)slimwilly link Wrote: I think the PC5 is correct but for later versions of the FZ1s ,,early ones use the PC3 as i understand...The PCV also fits and works with the early FZ1's ... ![]() Picture of My PCV and autotune fitted under the rear seat on my 08 FZ1 ![]() Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - slappy - 02-07-14 Is the pc5 you have fitted the correct one for an FZ1? The one I have is for a 07/08 R1 which I mistakenly thought would fit my FZ1 but they seem to be quite different to fit according to Dynojets instructions on their website. Re: Advice wanted on fitting a power commander 5. - pilninggas - 02-07-14 No PCV for the R1 will fit an FZ1, the PC3 for the 02-04 R1 will fit an 06 FZ1 though. My mistake was buying something that I thought would fit but didn`t., but you live and learn. |
