First fazer - Davew - 27-06-14 Hi all, just got my first fzs 600. It's a 2001 model in silver with 32k on the clock. Fairly high mileage I know, but it's in very good condition with loads of history and has been well looked after by the looks of it. Cost me a grand and so far I'm dead happy with it. Need to fill a small hole where the downpipe meets the exhaust and think the carbs need balancing as there's a bit of buzz vibration at a couple of spots on the revs, but apart from that it's all good. No doubt I'll be on here a fair bit finding things out! Re: First fazer - stinch182 - 27-06-14 Hi mate . 32k is that all .... Mine has 45k on it Re: First fazer - Dave48 - 28-06-14 Welcome! 32k is nothing if the bike been looked after-these motors have been known to go 100k. You will find all the help/advice you need on here! Re: First fazer - Davew - 28-06-14 Ha, yeah just looked through a load of posts and 32k doesn't seem that high now compared to others on here! Good to know these bikes go and go if looked after Re: First fazer - limax2 - 28-06-14 Well done, it looks really well :thumbup . As others said 32k is good if looked after, i.e. oil changes. A slight buzz round about the 6k mark is quite common so don't worry about that but correct carb balance is always good. If you are going to use that disc lock I would get a cord on it to reach the handlebars as a reminder that it's there. Otherwise it will all end in tears :'( . Enjoy ![]() Re: First fazer - Dave48 - 28-06-14 +1 for the disc lock "reminder" cord-all of £2-50 max-save a lot of s**t & pain! Re: First fazer - Davew - 28-06-14 Ha ha, yes, already done that a few times with my old bike, though a 125 isn't going to tear it apart like this will! Got another disc lock with a cord already! Re: First fazer - nick crisp - 28-06-14 Welcome aboard Davew A grand sounds like a steal for that, given condition and mileage, well done. Re: First fazer - Davew - 28-06-14 Cheers! I'm sure they'll be little bits that need doing, but I've always worked on my cars and bikes and enjoy a bit of tinkering! Re: First fazer - slimwilly - 29-06-14 Hi there Dave !! ![]() smart bike, Fizzypies has one of them, i think he has a 900 engine in it,,,speedy pies i call him :lol |
