Fzs1000 02 - Loplop46 - 15-06-14 Hello everyone. I have recently acquired a blue fzs1000 and it is one of the best bikes I have ever ridden. I had heard fantastic things about them for years but went down the sports bike route instead! We'll I've now tracked my gsxr and have the fzs for the road. I don't know much about how to make them better but I feel like I have to replace the standard handlebars as they feel too far back but which ones to go for? Any help or advice would be most welcome. As I have said its a 02 plate fzs1000 with 29,000 miles on the clock and is totally standard. I look forward to hearing from any of you. Lee Re: Fzs1000 02 - mickvp - 15-06-14 FFS, those michelin tyres must be really grippy :lol Welcome to the forum mate ![]() Re: Fzs1000 02 - noggythenog - 15-06-14 Welcome loplog Shame you bought a slow Blue one. Good to hear such praise for the fazer......perhaps they are beginning to look just a smidge dated now but everyone who rides one falls in love so who cares what other folk think. If you use the search button at the top you will get loads o stuff about handlebars and fitting but generally and most recently the Renthal 758 ultra lows get a good review...my 600 has them and they are great but my gen 2 fazer has flat bars and i hate them...if you havent changed handlebars on these before then theres also info on fitting.....mainly nthat you need to grind down a couple of little plastic nodules that sit inside holes on the original barsto stop the switch gear from spinning...far easier than trying to drill the renthal bars. Re: Fzs1000 02 - Loplop46 - 15-06-14 Hi noggy. Thanks for the info on the bars, I'll have a look and get them changed. I was considering vinyl wrapping the bike in yellow with black and white speed bloc but the blue will do for now! Re: Fzs1000 02 - Loplop46 - 15-06-14 I've never had me before but yeah they are pretty good. What do you run on yours mick? Re: Fzs1000 02 - mickvp - 15-06-14 I had Michelin PR2's on my last Fazer, loved em, thought they were great and they lasted ages. I have Maxxis Supermaxx on at the minute. Terrible tyres. poor grip (awful in the wet), Dunno what longevity is like but after 1000 miles, they look ot too bad. I still wont be buying them again though (only reason I have them is because the dealer threw in a set with my Fazer). |
