IXIL Exhausts.... - MadDogMcQ - 10-06-14 When I get a new bike I usually tear off the big bulbous manufacturer's can and replace it with a nice oval with twin-ports from the likes of BlueFlame. But this time I spotted these gorgeous Ixil exhausts and took a chance on them. They are stainless-steel with removable baffles and sound AMAZING as standard! They were a perfect fit and I especially like how the slash-cut matches the lines of the swing-arm. Well pleased! ![]() ![]() Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - brooker81 - 10-06-14 i like that. Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - Dave48 - 10-06-14 Pure art in metal! :b Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - Krezi - 10-06-14 This looks amazing! I would have got those for Fazer 1000 but those are not available Paul Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - keithfzs1000 - 10-06-14 if the header outlet on the fz1 is the same as the gen 2 then its only a matter of making a bracket to the rear peg mount Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - brooker81 - 10-06-14 They did make one for the fazer gen 1 was a set on eBay last month Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - Krezi - 10-06-14 I might look for one! They don't do anymore looking at their website which is a pity as lovely pipes! Paul Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - Captain Haddock - 10-06-14 Nice looking pipes indeed, don't leave it out in the rain though or they'll fill up..... :lol Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - keithfzs1000 - 10-06-14 outlet diam of gen 1 is 60mm and the gen 2 is 61mm (i am reliably told) so i guess if you manufacture and appropriate hanger baracket they could work or go for the more expensive option http://www.campbellcustom.co.uk/Yamaha%20FZS%201000%2001-05.htm lol 400 quid compared to 240 Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - Krezi - 10-06-14 those sidewinders look sweet as well! Anybody got them? What's the noise like? Paul Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - slimwilly - 10-06-14 They look sweet, cant believe they are quiet enough, doesn't look like enough silencer. Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - keithfzs1000 - 10-06-14 who the fek wants quiet lol, can always dampen down for mot and then back to normal after :evil :evil :evil :evil :evil Re: IXIL Exhausts.... - MadDogMcQ - 11-06-14 With the baffles in, it sounds pretty damned loud to me! Without them, it's just ridiculous :-) There's lots of popping and banging on the overrun which makes for fun times in little villages :evil The only thing that worries me, is whether or not it will pass a sound-check on a track-day. I am thinking about new exhaust on my fazer 1000 and debating between mivv gp or maybe this sidewinder? i don;t want too quiet but bearable when touring as well! Paul |
