Fazers race series? - ChristoT - 25-05-14 Does anyone know which race series the original Fazer 600 would be allowed to compete in? Anyone done it? How much would it cost, etc? Just scratching a curious itch here. ![]() Re: Fazers race series? - JoeRock - 25-05-14 TO be honest Christo, the only one I'd know of would be the Thundersport Streetfighter Race series - specifically class B 600cc 4s, 675 triples or 750 twins. Maximum power, 100, and there is a minimum weight, but I can't find it or remember it! Fazer wouldn't really stand a chance to be honest - it'd be up against a lot of the older CBR600s, gixxer 6s and zx6s (all streetfightered obviously) as well as the ducati 748 series - all of them put out more power than the Fazer, handle a lot better and both are, and can be made a lot lighter. To be honest mate, if you really want track time, I'd look into selling your project Fazer, and instead building a project CBR600f - probably f3 if possible (depending on when your licensing restriction ends) Re: Fazers race series? - ChristoT - 25-05-14 Maybe in a few years' time - I want to see this bike to completion, goddammit! ![]() Thanks for the info, though. Shame there was never a specific series, like the Hornet had. Well i suppose in fairness, with a decent slipon, jetting, and some minor port work, you'd likely be looking at mid 90s (at the wheel), so only about 5hp behind the rest (which I suspect could be found, but would be quite expensive). That, some decent suspension, and some serious weight cutting measures, and you might be able to have a half decent track bike (although probably not race ready!) They do caravan racing so why not start your own race series on bikes.... Re: Fazers race series? - HarryHornby - 26-05-14 You could always take the Pug banger racing......... :b Re: Fazers race series? - ChristoT - 26-05-14 (26-05-14, 10:26 PM)HarryHornby link Wrote: You could always take the Pug banger racing......... :b It's a 1.5L naturally aspirated diesel. Even I have standards. Re: Fazers race series? - stevierst - 27-05-14 A Peugeot banger racing? That's like playing conkers with an egg! Re: Fazers race series? - alan sherman - 28-05-14 An FZS600 Fazer did pretty well at the IOM a few years back. |
