Carb pressure - Derpdiherp - 03-05-14 I balanced my carbs today which went really smoothly thanks to the guide on here. I noticed that the carbs where at a pressure which was in a warning zone on the gauges. I've attached a photo so you can see what I mean. Any ideas if this is a problem? Re: Carb pressure - mickvp - 03-05-14 thats about right. Haynes quotes 230-250mmHg mate (and the 4 should be within 10mmHg of each other - the closer the better!) so you might be slightly low, but if its running ok I wouldnt worry about it (you can adjust it slightly by winding all 3 adjustment screw in or out a bit, but then you will need to balance the carbs together again, so as said, if its running ok leave it) Re: Carb pressure - Derpdiherp - 03-05-14 Brilliant thanks so long as it's close enough. It's been running badly when starting up for a while now, I have to give it about 3k on choke for a while for it to warm up, even in summer! Otherwise it'll die. So I thought I'd start with the carbs see if there was a problem there seems as it's only at low revs. I think next steps are checking the battery and then the air filter, I overfilled the oil a while back so it might be full of oil. |
