Speedo needle doing a dance!! - Funkymonkey71 - 23-04-14 Hi I'm new on here and on the fazer I have a 2001 600. The speedo needle is all over the place I've had some look at the front wheel to see if there's any signs of a broken ring but seems to be ok any ideas wot I do next??? Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - His Dudeness - 23-04-14 What condition is the wiring in? Any chance there's a broken wire or dodgy connection? Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - darrsi - 23-04-14 I'm not trying to sound rude, but definitely speedo and not rev counter? Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - thunderpantz - 23-04-14 Dodgy earth buddy. Mine was doing it a few weeks ago. Was bouncing around like mad Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - Funkymonkey71 - 23-04-14 Thanks when you say earth would that be on battery?? Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - Funkymonkey71 - 23-04-14 Lol defo speedo. I'm new to all this and not very hands on but want to try wots within my capability. If it's a dodgy wire are they easy to fit?? Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - His Dudeness - 23-04-14 (23-04-14, 09:56 PM)Funkymonkey71 link Wrote: Lol defo speedo. If it's a dodgy wire are they easy to fit??It's easy to fix a wire but you have to find where the problem is first which could be a pain. Think opening the loom and going through the earths. I'd say just live with it for now, see if it settles down. If it keeps going crazy then think about fixing it. If you're going to fix it you'd need a soldering iron, decent solder, heat shrink and loom wrap. Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - darrsi - 23-04-14 The reason i asked is 'cos the rev counter can go nuts if the TPS is faulty, i wasn't taking the piss, just didn't know your noobness. ![]() Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - Funkymonkey71 - 24-04-14 Lol wasn't offended cheers for the suggestion. Where's the earth for these sorry for sounding dumb lol Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - greenman - 24-04-14 I had similar issue shortly after I got my fazer, turned out to be Speedo wire touching disc and earthing out, taped up and rerouted been fine ever since. Just a thought. Re: Speedo needle doing a dance!! - Funkymonkey71 - 24-04-14 Cheers thanks for reply ![]() |
