To rejet plus K&N's or not? - Sannox - 20-04-14 Has anyone bunged on individual k&n air filters to the carbs, junking the original air box etc and re-jetted? Does this increase throttle response and power? Is it even worth it on a 95bhp bike? It's been suggested it's not worth stressing a perfectly good engine. Any thoughts? Re: To rejet plus K&N's or not? - ChristoT - 20-04-14 Well, the engine should run better as it gets a better flow of air through it. However, the Mikuni carbs don't seem to like the pod filters much. According to Deefer, there's only one shop in London who have done it sucessfully (make the bike run well, no flatspots) without some serious dyno time. And they aren't giving up their secret lightly. Re: To rejet plus K&N's or not? - Sannox - 21-04-14 I wonder if that place in London used a different set of carbs then and got round the TPS, or was it an original set up? hmmmmm could be a challenge :-D Re: To rejet plus K&N's or not? - ChristoT - 21-04-14 (21-04-14, 01:10 AM)Sannox link Wrote:I wonder if that place in London used a different set of carbs then and got round the TPS, or was it an original set up? hmmmmm could be a challenge :-D Original carbs, just playing with the needles and the jetting. I thought I heard someone mentioned differently sized needles on the inside two carbs? |
