rear tail - lee2475 - 07-04-14 Hi Folks Im going to have ago at the rear tail on the gen1 soon, But i have a few questions. I cannot see how the rear mud guard is attached to the undertray without removing it. I understand it needs some work to do this and I can get a second hand rear undertray without the rear mudguard, Will this be of any use? As i dont want to hack my original up incase all goes pear shaped ![]() Thanks Lee Re: rear tail - Red Ceri - 07-04-14 Rear undertray and mudguard are a one piece moulding, so the 2nd hand one you have been offered without the mudguard is either cut OEM or aftermarket Re: rear tail - Kosmic Kartman - 07-04-14 It's not really clear what you are trying to do. If you are trying to remove the OE mudgaurd/undertray and replace with tail tidy here is a link to show you how to remove the OE mudguard (It also goes on to show you how to modify it).: http://www.cartestsoftware.com/fz1/undertailmodifications.html Allow yourself about 2-3+ hours to complete the job if you are fitting an aftermarket tail tidy/undertray and allow another hour if you need to move alarm boxes, seat sensors and Scottoilers. Here's a Pyramid tail tidy I fitted at the weekend. ![]() Re: rear tail - nickodemon - 07-04-14 Here is an rsv4 tail piece i fitted to my tuono yesterday :lol Sorry i couldn't resist! Regarding my fazer tailpiece i just used a dremel and cut away most of it and just left the indicator mounts and enough to mount the no plate. Re: rear tail - GrahamB - 07-04-14 I cut loads off mine. ![]() Got a spare one for sale if you're interested? Re: rear tail - lee2475 - 16-04-14 Thanks guys for that, The link is very helpful, I will have ago at this weekend when im off work for a few days. ![]() Re: rear tail - keithfzs1000 - 16-04-14 left the original in place and cut down with a dremel |
