Rear Tyre Puncture - Timbollew - 03-04-14

Got to work this morning and noticed a lovely screw/nail in the rear tyre  :groan it's just off the center of the wheel so I think it'll be repairable. Only put the new tyre on last month so I don't wanna bin it. I've rung a couple of places around me (Caerphilly/Cardiff area) and they don't do puncture repairs.
So 2 questions: Anyone know anywhere that does it? How easy is it to do it myself?

If you've got a branch of Watling tyres near you, they do motorcycle puncture repairs. If you want to repair it yourself try something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400680600530?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Nah no Watling tyres by me. Funny enough I was looking at that plugger kit a second ago  Smile . Are they a good long term solution? I might get those and keep them in my bike just in case if theyre good.

Lol is it really any good? The mushroom things look like they'd be a better long term solution. I seen something the same as the crafty plugger on ebay an was only £8.99 so prices is a lot better than £24.99 for the mushrooms.

Beware of cheap Chinese imitations

No one's mentioned crafty pluggers yet, soooo

Yes, there are several repair products ourt there, no, I've not tried all of them, I started off with goop preventative etc which I've never had save from a puncture, next up was crafty plugger and I've not needed to try any others!

Re: Rear Tyre Puncture - ElkWorks - 04-04-14

I got a cheap ass plug kit ebay, it was about £5 delivered as i had a 500 mile old pilot power, plugged it 1k ago, and has been fine since!

Re: Rear Tyre Puncture - Timbollew - 04-04-14

I ended up ordering the stopngo plugger kit. The one with the "magic" mushrooms. I'm hoping it'll come tomorrow. I'll let you know how I get one, I might even film the process if I can be arsed Smile

Mushroom is the only reliable long term solution.

Plugs work OK, sometimes as long as the tyre, but mushroom is safer, better.

Fixed it yesterday  Big Grin . The kit now lives under my seat, everone should have one. I took a video of the process and I'll post a link when I get home from work, it's easy to do just surprising how much you gotta tighten down and with an allen key its hard to get the pull you want without horribly disfiguring your hands  Wink
