Servicing - Mowjoe - 27-03-14 My 2012 Fazer8 has 2500 miles on her. It had the 1st service at 600 miles in sept 2012. Next is due at 6000 miles but that could be 2 years hence. So would you get it serviced for the sake of a stamp in the book or just wait for 6000 miles to come up. The handbook only says check annually. :rolleyes Re: Servicing - fazercol - 30-03-14 My 2012 only has 1600 miles on the clock but I am having a oil and filter change done just to make be sure the oil is not breaking down and to be on the safe side. to be honest the amount of time I get to ride it will take me about 5 years to get it to 6000 miles so prevention is better then cure. Re: Servicing - Mattsplat - 30-03-14 You really want the dealer to be doing the recommended servicing whilst the bike is under warranty. If you don't and something goes wrong, you wont have a leg to stand on. Providing you use a VAT Registered garage it will not affect your warranty and they can also stamp your book we have done this with both brand new cars and bikes. Re: Servicing - Dave48 - 30-03-14 Definitely cover yourself if bike still under warranty. For anyone doing low annual miles I would change oil & filter annually regardless of miles ridden. Not all service items are mileage related-some parts like brake seals/hoses/fluid & coolant are time-related. Service schedule gives info. Re: Servicing - Mowjoe - 17-04-14 All serviced and ready for the season. £128 at Probike Newbury. IOM practice week booked! Bring it on. ![]() |
