Venhill exup repair kit - PaulSmith - 22-03-14 I bought the venhill kit to replace a frayed cable exup cable. I got the old one out and put the new one in and it took maybe ten minutes, then I cut it too short. My fault, I forgot to measure twice before cutting. Could I get the second cable in? Not a chance! Over an hour later and I have given up. How the hell do you stop the end of the cable from fraying and snagging, stopping it from going through ? A second question? Should I be using locktight or something on the screw holding the cable in the nipple? Given the heat and vibration, I cant see how it would stay in place? Re: Venhill exup repair kit - Topcat2006 - 22-03-14 I normally solder the cable before I cut it when replacing them. Re: Venhill exup repair kit - Davebo - 23-03-14 Someone said dip the end in wax to thread it through. I didn't. |
