timing advancers - stu1318 - 21-03-14 does anyone use one on their bike?? Re: timing advancers - karlo - 21-03-14 I have a 4 degree one on mine not sure if it gave much power but definately made it smoother. Re: timing advancers - Falcon 269 - 21-03-14 Yes, lots of us have 3 or 4 deg advancers. Worth doing. You can modify the stock advancer to give you what you need for the price of a timing cover gasket. http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/eskortsadvancermod.shtml Re: timing advancers - PieEater - 21-03-14 I have a cheap ebay 4 degree advancer fitted, it improves low to mid range response and helps with starting both cold and warm, the offset is that what it gives at the low end it takes away at the top. It's swings and roundabouts really but if you spend more time in the lower half of the rev range than the top end you might benefit from fitting one. Re: timing advancers - red98 - 23-03-14 yep ![]() ![]() Re: timing advancers - Dead Eye - 23-03-14 Hmm, might try this myself as well - I do tend to use the lower half of the rev range more often... though I'm definitely more confident in the top end than when I first got the bike haha Re: timing advancers - stu1318 - 23-03-14 (23-03-14, 08:49 AM)PieEater link Wrote:
This is the one I bought - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151247788947
cheers mate Re: timing advancers - Red Ceri - 23-03-14 Got one on mine, does improve low down response and starting, thinking about doing a couple of dyno runs to see the actual results. Need to find a decent Dyno shop in Essex or East London to get the runs done. Do need to get my shims checked first. |
