Foot pump me please - fazersharp - 12-03-14
After many years use my trusty 10 year old halfords foot pump has puffed its last psi.
On reading reviews it looks like the new one is not as good as the older one -- so what do I get now.

How about a small electric one like some of the others have which fits under the seat. Electricity.....it's the future

Halfords own bicycle pump, the 2 hands dynamite detonating type :eek , just black, no stickers or writing on it
I got one for a tenner & the boys from the workshop said it's the one they always use & outperformed most others.
It's quite tall so has a decent capacity, i did 8 pumps & ended up going 15psi over what i wanted.

There was a puncture repair kit with a pump on the telly recently. £40 I think. It IS the future.

Thanks for the replies so far I need to stick with a single barrel one due to where it is stored in the car. I don't need to carry it with me on the bike, and prefer old fashioned leg work, I may just get the £7 halfords one but on there own website there are so many bad review its put me off a bit, after all £7!!!!!

I got a double barrel one from Argos, first time I used it the lever arms bent, had to keep kicking them back to get a fullstroke. Second time I game up and went to the ASDA to use their free air!

I first had single barrel and 2nd use the conrod bent.
Does the asda air valve fit the wheel?

I have a Michelin that plugs into the 12v lighter adaptor , wouldn't fit under the seat , cost me £ 20 a year ago from Motaman , works a treat .

Got Michelin single barrel from Halfords, it was £15 odd. Done gone so far.

I got one of these from costco about 5 years ago when it was on offer for £40. its a good bit of kit, but not cheap:

Hail the mighty costco.....i love costco Mick....people are like what you see in costco...its not cheap...i dont care...it is ace & has everything i "need"......plus you can usually be sure that something from costco is top quality.
Shame my nearest is 2 hours trip to cardiff

If your a member you can buy stuff online from them and have it delivered now as well - another excellent buy from there is the 36 pack of yellow microfibres for 15-16 quid, they are gallous

Ohh good buy... I already got about 50 multi coloured teatowels clogging up my airing cupboard though...they were costco....soon to be utilised as biking goods :lol
Plus my 10Kg pancake mix is starting to go off......theres only so many pancakes 1 guy can eat & ive made a good effort.
Havent seen the pumps though, ill have a look on sunday when im up that way.

I use a sturrip pump it was my dad's so it is easily 50 years old as my dad died in 1965 and I know he had had for years before that, worth a fortune as scrap I would think, all brass construction, guess what British made, only thing I have replaced on it was the piston ring on the plunger, made one out of a piece of leather.
