Rear tyre -- does this look right? - wickedmonkey - 08-03-14

Hi guys,

I noticed this morning that there is a strange patch on the centre of my rear tyre that wasn't there last week. I know that the tread is low and I was planning on getting a new one next month but this patch worries me. Anyone know what this is/if it's safe?

The tread isn't "low", it's non existent, i wouldn't even dream of riding with a tyre that bad, especially with the recent weather we've just been through!

I know, it was on the bike when I got it, already pretty squared off. I think the last owner only rode right angles.

I filled the yard with white smoke and the stables next door panicked and called the fire brigade! LOL  :rollin :rollin :rollin

I'd love to but if it goes pop, I've no way of getting it to the garage!

Re: Rear tyre -- does this look right? - Punkstig - 09-03-14

Do it outside the garage and make new friends you hooligan you!

With the tyre the way it is, I'd take the wheel off and get the bus!

Honestly, it ain't worth it should you get pulled, or even worse have a bump, the cops will go mad on your ass, and the insurance co might have a get out clause for roadworthyness!
