rear brake - carlos - 01-03-14 Hi guys first post on here and straight into a question on the back brake have found I need new seals and pistons for the rear caliper do I use pattern parts about 60 quid or oem yamaha parts about 100 any experiencewith pattern parts ![]() Re: rear brake - unfazed - 01-03-14 Go with the OEM stuff, always like to know my brakes will work when I need them. :lol Re: rear brake - Fazer Forever - 01-03-14 Seconded. Easy mod and about ten times better braking. Almost too good if you get carried away. Re: rear brake - carlos - 01-03-14 thank you for the replies the 1000 caliper sounds good but have heard they are hard to find Re: rear brake - carlos - 01-03-14 is the xjr1300 a slot in with no mods do all years fit a fzs600?? anyone done this Re: rear brake - Fazer Forever - 01-03-14 I've fitted a 1000 calliper so if the XJR1300 is the same then it's dead easy. You don't modify the calliper at all, just file a bit off the bracket until the calliper bolts to it properly. It's obvious what to do when you have the bits in your hands. Re: rear brake - noggythenog - 02-03-14 Hey Fizzy Dont suppose next time your at the bike you could measure centre to centre on the torque arm could you. I'd really hate to not use my bling :faz Etched one. :'( Re: rear brake - noggythenog - 02-03-14 (02-03-14, 06:31 PM)Fizzy Pies link Wrote: 240mm between centres nog Cheers geezer! :thumbup Hey fizzy i checked my torque arm...240mm so they're the same size which means i can use my bling one when i fit my thou caliper. For some reason i thought the 600 & thou had different length arms but the thou one must have just looked longer because of its design. Re: rear brake - carlos - 02-03-14 thanks again guys no doubt I will be back soon for more help Re: rear brake - Fazer Forever - 02-03-14 What torque arm is that Fizzy? Looks good, much nicer than standard. Re: rear brake - Fazer Forever - 03-03-14 Cheers.
As you said mate, it just means it's further around the disc, slightly further from anchor point on swing arm. Shouldn't make any difference what length it is, as long as there is enough slack in the brake line to reach it. A few cm shouldn't hurt. ![]() Re: rear brake - noggythenog - 04-03-14 Cheers chris Ye im always on about wanting another bike but i cant help myself buying more bits for this one. Suspension & brake lines then I've pretty much replaced everything :eek Re: rear brake - Chris - 04-03-14 (04-03-14, 10:42 AM)noggythenog link Wrote:Suspension & brake lines then I've pretty much replaced everything :eek Apart from the muppet riding it :b :eek Chris Re: rear brake - noggythenog - 04-03-14 (04-03-14, 05:37 PM)Chris link Wrote:
Apart from the muppet riding it :b :eek Chris
Oi ya bass!!! :lol Re: rear brake - ChristoT - 04-03-14 (04-03-14, 05:52 PM)noggythenog link Wrote:
Apart from the muppet riding it :b :eek Chris
Oi ya bass!!! :lol
Sounds right to me!! :lol :lol :lol Re: rear brake - noggythenog - 04-03-14 :b Re: rear brake - Chris - 05-03-14 (04-03-14, 10:28 PM)noggythenog link Wrote::b :rollin |
