Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 24-02-14 Hi all, have been riding my 03 Fazer thou for a week and am finding it a bit difficult to live with the Scorpion can that came with the bike - it's a bit too loud for my liking. Judging by the photo, there isn't any way of fitting a DB killer as there was on a Scorpion I had on an old DRZ supermoto. I'm doing a 2k European trip in the summer and would like a can that's a bit less intrusive....any suggestions? ![]() Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - bigsteve - 24-02-14 Hi Ive got a DELKEVIC on thou which to me sounds nice but not to loud with db killer fitted and the prices arnt to bad either Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - nsr500v4 - 24-02-14 +1 on the Delkevic can, even with baffle out its not too loud, just right! ![]() Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 24-02-14 Thanks guys, I have seen those on eBay so definitely an option. I presume they're for road use with the DB killer and would pass the mot without any probs? Cheers Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - bigsteve - 24-02-14 yes they are road legal but they do sell some for race use for more info and buying direct check out http://www.delkevic.co.uk/ Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 24-02-14 Thanks mate, will do Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - Falcon 269 - 25-02-14 I'd also look at Fuel and at MTC Exhausts. Very well made cans, good value for money IMHO. Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - Lez72 - 25-02-14 Why not put the standard can back on for your trip if you still have it. If you don't, they are cheap as chips on Ebay ?? Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 25-02-14 Thanks will have a look at those as well. I've seen the Fuel ones on eBay. Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 25-02-14 I don't have the standard can unfortunately... Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - kitcrazy - 25-02-14 just fitted a mivv to mine.ment to be road legal but its very loud :evil Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - Mick-H - 25-02-14 (25-02-14, 09:12 AM)clunkie66 link Wrote: I don't have the standard can unfortunately... Keep an eye on ebay, you can pick up a standard can for under £40, they come up on here as well from time to time. Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - NorthWestern - 25-02-14 how loud are those delkvics? I do a 25 mile stint on the motorway to work and got fed up with the BBBRRRAAAAAAAAAAA when on the fireblade, I want something fruitier than std but not over loud Was thinking of a simmi/SP but not sure about the length, 350 seems the norm Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - Dead Eye - 25-02-14 The Fuel can I have on mine isn't overly loud - nice burble around town, but doesn't try to murder your ears under WOT at high revs. Being young and completely ignorant of my hearing, I wouldn't mind it a little louder, so it would probably suit someone not wanting something too loud. My Beowulf on my 600 is pretty damn loud though... considering putting it on the thou, but the only thing that stops me is that it's not in as great condition as my Fuel one ![]() Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - noggythenog - 25-02-14 :groan Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - Dead Eye - 25-02-14 Noggy, why do you have a standard thou can in your shed? You have a 600 ![]() Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - noggythenog - 25-02-14 (25-02-14, 01:11 PM)Dead Eye link Wrote: Noggy, why do you have a standard thou can in your shed? They have 2 removable baffles one at front and one at rear, so you could mess about until you get required noise levels.I think motad are selling them cheap for a new range about to be produced. Only £103 delivered! Re: Alternative can to Scorpion? - clunkie66 - 25-02-14 Thanks, that looks ideal. |
