Apparently crocs are ok for just about anything

Totally type approved to make you look ridiculous at every opportunity, & you wont get tennis elbow or tennis foot as per the pic while wearing them.

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - noggythenog - 18-02-14

& why we need good gloves. 8)

1) slightly disturbing
2) explains why fingers bleed like foc!

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Dead Eye - 18-02-14

That is one disturbing photo... which I find far too fascinating... looking at all the bones, or what's left of them

This makes me glad that I opted for shin-high boots instead of ankle-high ones...

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Razgruff - 18-02-14

looks more like split acid or something than abrasion damage ?

Quite possibly, dunno, but you reminded me of an incident a friend of mine dealt with - the aftermath of it anyway. He's a elf'n'safety guru, and dealt with this. Trainee in a dairy, the kid was working cleaning the tankers out. A messy job, old milk gets spilt everywhere, he'd turned up to work in his nice new expensive trainers and got them covered. So he takes the jet wash lance he'd been cleaning the tankers with, and turned it on his trainers, while still wearing them. This isn't any old jet wash, it's steam.... Cooked the flesh right off his foot. Never got to the other foot...

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Razgruff - 18-02-14

I used to steam clean trucks and trailers prior to going in the workshops and MOT's. cut through my wellies at the toe tecter once when I got myself in a tangle under a trailer,  :eek I was lucky I hit the Tector in a passing sweep, and didn't hit more foot higher up the boot and for longer  :\

It looks bad but there is no worse pain than stubbing your toe on the fridge

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Doddsie - 18-02-14

..... Or standing on a lego brick!

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Dead Eye - 18-02-14

Or an upside down plug...

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - Fazerider - 18-02-14

BigBlueBear, there is no need for that sort of image.
The OP's post was grim enough, but at least he had a valid point. You do not, just gratuitous shock and horror.
That was a person FFS. If that was mate of yours or a child of yours, would you want images of his corpse splashed about internet forums for a laugh?
I'm all for free speech, but please try to learn where the boundaries are.

Re: Freshmeat anyone? - ChristoT - 18-02-14

To be fair, as grim as it is, it is in keeping with the OP: it shows the consequences of not wearing the right gear. I don't think it was put up for a laugh either.

At the end of the day: wear your gear! Thanks to my full-face lid, I still have a lower jaw after my fast smash with the Merc. Don't think I don't remember that.

Im inclined to agree, just a bit too gruesome those images BBB. Sorry to have to censor them by removing them, as I know the moderating on here falls on the relaxed side. I just dont think images of that horrific nature add anything to this thread.

We should all know the risks associated with not wearing a lid, and its clear to see why its a legal requirement, unlike proper footwear or gloves.
