Oil Filter - Andy Clap - 06-02-14 I need an oil filter (my Champion one developed a pinhole leak after 6 months!) I was looking at this, and although the part number appears to be FZS600 (5GH-13440-00) it looks a lot bigger that filters I've used before. Any thoughts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YAMAHA-GENUINE-YZF600-VMX1200-FZS600-FZS1000-FZ6-YZF-R6-OIL-FILTER-NOS-/291063851237?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item43c4c1e8e5 Re: Oil Filter - fazersharp - 06-02-14 Nope its wrong as far as I know I have a box infront of me and its red -not blue and the code is 5DM-134400-00 Re: Oil Filter - wezdavo - 06-02-14 I would get a k&n mate, it has a lower profile which makes getting it in easier and also has a build in nut on the end to aid fitting http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/K-N-Filters-Performance-Oil-Filter-Yamaha-1998-FZS600-Fazer-KN-147-/141171396321?pt=UK_Vehicle_Oils_Lubricants_Fluids&hash=item20de788ee1 Re: Oil Filter - Andy Clap - 06-02-14 (06-02-14, 06:51 PM)wezdavo link Wrote: I would get a k&n mate, it has a lower profile which makes getting it in easier and also has a build in nut on the end to aid fittingExcellent Matey, thanks for the link ![]() Re: Oil Filter - Fazerider - 06-02-14 Yes, that's the wrong filter. As you spotted, it's taller than the 5DM version so you won't be able to fit it without taking the downpipes off. Re: Oil Filter - fatboy - 07-02-14 Just done oil and filter change, using the new .kn,so easy putting it on.old one was a pig to get off. Lol Re: Oil Filter - dcurzon - 07-02-14 Another vote for the k&n Re: Oil Filter - Burgess118 - 02-05-14 Just bought a K and N air and oil filter. plus Castrol bike engine. Now to get stuck in! Re: Oil Filter - hightower - 02-05-14 I think that nut on the end of K&Ns has got to be the simplest but most productive design feature ever. I mean think about it - it's bleeding obvious. So why is this such a rarity?! That nut is an absolute God send. |
