Youngest off to Uni - esetest - 05-02-14 My daughter Amy , has been offered a place at Gloucester Uni ( Cheltenham campus ) training to be a teacher , I am really proud , it might not be a big deal for some people , but she will be the first from our family . Re: Youngest off to Uni - Andy FZS - 05-02-14 Well done I hope she enjoys it. Re: Youngest off to Uni - ChristoT - 05-02-14 Congrats! All the best to her! ![]() Re: Youngest off to Uni - bri h - 06-02-14 Thats great i hope she has a good time. Re: Youngest off to Uni - mickvp - 06-02-14 Congratulations. Speaking as someone who is also undergoing their degree, its a long road ahead, but I'm sure she will make it no problems ![]() Re: Youngest off to Uni - ChristoT - 06-02-14 Wotcha studying Micky? In September, I'm back to uni for my final year of Aero engineering. Re: Youngest off to Uni - bigbluebear - 06-02-14 (06-02-14, 12:22 PM)ChristoT link Wrote: Wotcha studying Micky? I'm doing all theoretical stuff at UH, and making tea and researching wheels and trailers in my placement year! :lol :lol Re: Youngest off to Uni - Mattsplat - 06-02-14 Ive been actively 'steering' my daughter towards uni for a few years now, havent given her much choice tbh, since she was 12 and had to choose her subjects weve told her she IS going to uni ![]() She's only 17 but we're hoping she's going to study to be a teacher as well ![]() Re: Youngest off to Uni - esetest - 06-02-14 Amy will be 21 this june , she stayed on at sixth form and got good A levels , she has been working in Homesense since she was 17 , she wanted to go to uni but wasn't sure want career path , but the last 18 mths she has been doing 1 day a week voluntary work at Ilminster ave primary , the head advised her to try teaching as she has been really impressed with her and helped her prepare for her interview . I'm just really chuffed for her and hopefully she will be doing a job she wants to do . Fair play to anybody who can do a degree while holding down a full time job , I went back to college in 2003 at 38 to do a testing inspecting course , that was only 6 weeks 1 day a week 3hrs a lesson , and that was a struggle doing that after working on site all day long , I take my hat off to you and hope you all pass . Re: Youngest off to Uni - mickvp - 06-02-14 I suppose you can see it as it being hard, I think working alongside it helps me through my degree - my 15 years experience as an engineer means I can relate my practical knowledge to the theory that I learn in uni, meaning I remember it better (if that makes even the remotest bit of sense :lol). Im sure your wee lass will skoosh it mate, and it will be a proud moment for you when you get to see her in her graduation hat and gown :thumbup Re: Youngest off to Uni - sadlonelygit - 09-02-14 oh goody.............fresh meat :evil Re: Youngest off to Uni - fazed - 11-02-14 You're justly proud too. Its good to see your youngster doing well Re: Youngest off to Uni - Devic - 18-02-14 Good luck to her, same Uni my Niece went too and she enjoyed every minute of it nice to see some of the younger generation making something of their lives. Re: Youngest off to Uni - dickturpin - 23-02-14 I have two at uni at the moment...interesting times ahead for you! Re: Youngest off to Uni - esetest - 28-02-14 Thanks to everyone for the congrats , she has been offered a place in Bath and Plymouth as well , teachers at the school where she does voluntary work have advised her to go to Bath , she hasn't made her mind up yet but will probably go to Bath . Re: Youngest off to Uni - king1 - 05-03-14 Brilliant My eldest niece, is at uni. studying to be a teacher, she is in her final year but loves ever minute of it and the kids she has worked with. When she graduates she is going backpacking in the USA and looking to work in the summer camps over there It helps that her mum is a head teacher of a nursery, so that is where she gets it from. Pity I'm the thick one of the family :'( Re: Youngest off to Uni - esetest - 06-03-14 Your niece will have a great time backpacking round the USA . Amy gets her brains from her Grandad , they skipped a generation with me . (05-03-14, 10:46 PM)king1 link Wrote:Brilliant |
