carbon tank shield - Kentish - 23-01-14 Anyone got one of these from Infinite Performance? real carbon. They look quite good for protecting from scratches. ![]() Re: carbon tank shield - fazersharp - 23-01-14 Do we rearly need that much protecting. All that glue me thinks will do more harm than good Re: carbon tank shield - Doddsie - 24-01-14 Tis a bit on the large side! Re: carbon tank shield - Kentish - 24-01-14 It sticks on with tape that comes already attached. I was going to order one and see what it looks like. Think they only £24 or something. Bare in mind that is a Yellow Tank. so probably stands out like a sore thumb, Anything yellow stands out like a sore thumb anyway!! Your be surprised how much the paint does wear away on that part of the tank. You sit right against it on the fazer. Re: carbon tank shield - Mattsplat - 24-01-14 I fitted a clear protection kit to my bike ![]() http://www.window-tint.co.uk/yamaha-paint-protection-kits/92513-yamaha-fz1-2006-2012-paint-protection.html Re: carbon tank shield - fazersharp - 24-01-14 (24-01-14, 10:46 AM)Kentish link Wrote: Your be surprised how much the paint does wear away on that part of the tank. And those with double sided sticky tape always look rubbist and you wil get loose areas that you can tap as the cover floats a little. Where you do need protection is where your knees are that link of mattsplats look right Re: carbon tank shield - Kentish - 24-01-14 Talking about where your knees are I use these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/301034993657?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I have just started using my Fazer a lot more now for commuting and noticed a few scratches appearing in the area where I lean on the tank. I have a tank protector there already but its not really up to much. So I was going to try the carbon thing. I don't like the bagster tank covers as I think it ruins the look of the bike. The colour is never right Re: carbon tank shield - fazersharp - 24-01-14 I dont think thos dots are big enough! you need somthing about the size of an elbow patch on a tweed jacket Re: carbon tank shield - Kentish - 24-01-14 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350981853444?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Re: carbon tank shield - fazersharp - 24-01-14 (24-01-14, 01:35 PM)Kentish link Wrote: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/350981853444?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649much better |
