Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 19-01-14 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DID-Upgraded-Chain-Sprocket-Kit-Yamaha-FZS600-S-Fazer-97-03-/321040757202?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4abf8531d2 As above, Just want to make sure thats the proper job before I order it (02 Foxeye) :thumbup Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - darrsi - 20-01-14 Yep, those part numbers are for the heavy duty X ring chain & sprocket kit, that's why it's a bit dearer than the M&P one. Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 20-01-14 Quality. I'll get that ordered up tonight then. Don't mind paying a bit more for the good stuff (plus, its gold! :lol). Cheers Darrsi Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - adeejaysdelight - 20-01-14 Mick, is 98-03 not for the Boxeye original carb bike (like mine)? And the foxeye is 02-07 (or similar)? That is the kit I got for bike anyways, so unless the rear wheel and sprocket carrier are the same on both bikes... Why don't you drop the seller a line and double check? That way if it is the wrong parts, they pay for the return ![]() Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 20-01-14 I wouldn't have thought so. Mines is an 02 anyway, and his listing does state 98-03. So if it IS the wrong parts, I won't be paying for returns anyway ![]() Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - Buzz - 20-01-14 It's the same kit I put on my '03 over the summer, it'll fit yours just fine. Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 20-01-14 Cheers Buzz, good to know mate ![]() All ordered up now (along with a tool to remove old one/fit new one) :thumbup Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - adeejaysdelight - 21-01-14 If its listed 98-03 it means its a Mk1. Your bike is not a 98-03, its an 02-07 Mk2. The seller is under no obligation to cover the cost of returns as the listing is spot on. Just so you know mate Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - darrsi - 21-01-14 (21-01-14, 10:56 AM)adeejaysdelight link Wrote: If its listed 98-03 it means its a Mk1. Just so you know mate Mk1 is a boxeye 98/01 Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03 After that is an FZ600, not an FZS600. Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 21-01-14 ^^^that was my understanding as well. Mines is a mk1 facelift being the foxeye? Anyway, it shares the same running gear anyway, so it will likely fit fine I'm sure ![]() Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - Buzz - 21-01-14 (21-01-14, 11:02 AM)darrsi link Wrote: [quote author=adeejaysdelight link=topic=11382.msg122246#msg122246 date=1390298160]Mk1 is a boxeye 98/01 Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03 After that is an FZ600, not an FZS600. Talking about boxeye's, i've just got home from a minor eye surgery, stings like shit. :\ Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - darrsi - 21-01-14 (21-01-14, 01:55 PM)Buzz link Wrote: [quote author=darrsi link=topic=11382.msg122247#msg122247 date=1390298524]Mk1 is a boxeye 98/01 Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03 After that is an FZ600, not an FZS600. You state: Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03. Mine is a 2002 but has the rectangular headlights, which i assume is a Mk1 boxeye? Are the foxeye headlights the slanted ones? In any case, would it mean that mine is a possible Mk 1/2? G ; ) Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - mickvp - 22-01-14 yeah, mines is an 02 with the slanty headlights. 02 was the changeover year so im led to believe that both boxeyes/foxeyes were available for a time, and that there was some overlap as opposed to a clear cut stopping of one, and starting of the other. hope that makes sense :lol Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - BluprintZ - 22-01-14 (22-01-14, 01:42 AM)mickvp link Wrote: yeah, mines is an 02 with the slanty headlights. 02 was the changeover year so im led to believe that both boxeyes/foxeyes were available for a time, and that there was some overlap as opposed to a clear cut stopping of one, and starting of the other. Right Mick, cheers for that mate, did cross my mind that mine was possibly a changeover model. G ; ) Re: Is this the right Chain/Sprocket? - darrsi - 22-01-14 Yeah, as above, it just depends when the bike was first registered. |
