Drain holes - bootz76 - 15-01-14

Anyone got a pic of where they are located in the head??

Re: Drain holes - darrsi - 15-01-14

The hole in the middle of the engine fins, that goes up to the spark plug area.

Re: Drain holes - hightower - 16-01-14

When I was looking I was expecting to find some high tec wizardy or something. Turns out they are nothing more than a hole (looks like a hole punch has gone through) in the side, inline with the spark plugs.

so is that a hole to stop your spark plug area filling up with water

Re: Drain holes - HazzaBui - 16-01-14

Any suggestion for clearing this drain hole through?  1 of my spark plug areas keeps filling up with water (on cyclinder 3), and it's causing me some issues!
Cheers

Something stiff and thin to break through if it's totally clogged - ie a thin screwdriver or drill bit.

Then a thin bottle brush or something to finish the job off.

Wouldn't imagine these get too clogged though, unless you take the bike through mud and stuff - when I checked mine it didn't have a spot of dirt on/in it.

Look on ebay for airbrush cleaning brushes.. they should be fine enough..

A blast of compressed air should do the trick. I always give it a good blast and also round the plug before taking one out to get rid of any bits of crud that might be in there.

I know it sounds daft, but don't remove any plugs before you unblock or clean the plug area.........or you will regret it.  Wink
