Standard disk brakes/ Radial - slimwilly - 26-12-13

Could someone point out the difference of radial disk brakes,,i know it's to do with the positioning of the caliper, but whats the definition?

Well I didn't understand a word of that explanation.Smile

They move the calipers away from the thinner tube of the upsidedown forks to stop vibration under braking?

Damon l'Anson's explanation is very clear.

Well, clear to me ... Smile

That is clear, Indeedy... Seems like a different answer to the first one though (and more likely?)?

Re: Standard disk brakes/ Radial - locksmith - 28-12-13

Does seem a better real life explanation.

I'll stick with the old R6 brakes then :lol

As soon as my radial caliper spacers arrive from DevilsYam, I'll tell you  Wink

Re: Standard disk brakes/ Radial - slimwilly - 29-12-13

So it appears that it is all about the caliper mount,,and the caliper mounting bolt positions, supposedley stops twisting of the caliper due to braking forces, and is important that the caliper is between the axle line of the front and back wheels.as was higher up on the disk, nearer to the fork.

Appears you've understood it pretty good. Smile
