Fairings - roadpilot3 - 16-12-13

Hello, having had my Fazer for a few years I considered chopping her in for something else, for no reason other than I fancied a change.
BUT reality set in.  My Fazer is clean and tidy, running well, has new tyres and does everything I ask of her, its also and not worth a light!  I like the way it handles, the riding position and its plenty quick enough really.
As I struggled to find something that I want/ can afford/won’t regret changing to.  I have decided I’m going to keep her...... where is this going ??? I hear you ask......
Well, I was thinking - Maybe a set of Fairing Lowers would make her look like a different bike, but with all the perks of Keeping the Devil you know..... I prefer the look of the SV650 with Fairing Lowers rather than without but I have never actually seen a FZS600 with them fitted.
Has anyone ever fitted these to their bike and did they work or were they rubbish?  What’s your thoughts on these?

I am struggling to find any pictures of a 2000 plate gold and black one with them on and can’t find any reviews on line at all.

Re: Fairings - alan sherman - 16-12-13

Probably the TCP ones.  Look here: http://www.tcpsa.com/  There is a picture of the boxeye, but more of the foxeye style

The boxeye ones stick out around the radiator a bit too much for my taste.  The foxeye ones look pretty good in my opinion.  TCP were the yamaha official accessories provider for the foxeye version with their front fender, single seat cowel, fairings and engine cowel available through Yamaha.

My ideal Fazer would be the foxeye, in yellow, with the TCP fairing lower and front mudguard.  Matched with Renthall bars and the Devil high level exhaust.  Sadly a top box too.....

The price seems a lot more reasonable than I would have thought - anyone able to comment on the quality of fit and finish with thee products

Re: Fairings - roadpilot3 - 17-12-13

Hi, thanks for the replies.  I sent an email to tcp but it looks like they have issues. I got an auto reply saying that they would not answer my email as the company is being restructured!  :'(

The more I think about this the better the idea seems to be!

Re: Fairings - alan sherman - 17-12-13

The the UK distributor - the place in Holland.  They may have stock.  Boxeyes are 10 years old plus now so new parts aren't coming out for them so TCP is the only option that I can remember.  They sometimes pop up on ebay or on the for sale forum on this site.

Re: Fairings - MarkWales - 17-12-13

what about the polish ones on Ebay?

Re: Fairings - bozboz - 22-12-13

I have a set of TCP ones in silver just like the pic for the foxeye. Not fitted yet, I'll wait untill the ice has come and gone! Quality is good, solid and the fitting looks very tidy! Got from a member on the forum, will post pictures when I get my arse in gear and actually make the bike look pretty.....

Re: Fairings - His Dudeness - 22-12-13

Personally I think the fairings look pretty awful. They don't blend in with the bike and you're covering the best looking part of the bike, the engine!

Re: Fairings - ChristoT - 22-12-13

Then again...

Darth Fazer's bike is pretty cool!!

I agree
I had a seat single seat cowl but it just looked like exactly what it was-------------- a plastic cap on the seat. Bit like the fairings they just dont look "right"
