Fuel Gauge Problem - darrsi - 10-12-13 Noticed over a couple of weeks that my fuel gauge needle was not very stable, it would move about a little but i put it down to stopping on sloping roads, etc. But tonight i noticed that the needle was bang on the 'F' marker, but it had only done 6 miles since filling the tank right up near my house last night, then i put the bike away. Normally, as you all probably know, when you fill up the needle goes to the 12 o'clock position and just stays there for ages before thinking about coming down eventually, many miles later. Anyone got any ideas or advice on what maybe causing it to be a bit random, and is it more likely to be a mechanical or an electrical problem? Re: Fuel Gauge Problem - red98 - 11-12-13 wait untill your nearly empty and take the float out and check condition and action and as already said check connections ![]() Re: Fuel Gauge Problem - Lawrence - 11-12-13 (11-12-13, 12:09 AM)ChristoT link Wrote:I'm going to state the bloody obvious, and recommend you check all connections?Start with this. Could be as simple as the connector isn't plugged in fully. If it is, give the wiring a wiggle with the ignition on and see if that has any effect on the gauge. Re: Fuel Gauge Problem - darrsi - 11-12-13 Bloody thing worked fine again this morning, mind you i was more concerned with seeing where i was going in the fog!
