changing bulbs on headlight - king1 - 09-12-13 Hi Everyone I have a 98 fazer and want to make both headlights to H4s. How do I change the H1 fitting to H4? I have already taken the shroud off the h1 side but want to inpove the lights. Thanks Kelvin Re: changing bulbs on headlight - Lumpy - 10-12-13 (09-12-13, 10:45 PM)king1 link Wrote:Hi Everyonechange to the 5RT fairing it's the only simplish way. The fittings for 'h4' are completely different. You may be able to sort some projector units to fit. The H4 bulbs are similar wattage and don't really shed much more, if any, light. Fit some driving lamps and maybe spots for high beams. Re: changing bulbs on headlight - Fazerider - 10-12-13 One of my many almost-finished projects… It's possible, but quite a faff. You need to open up the hole to get the larger bulb in and the reflector material is a high temperature plastic that's loaded with ceramic powder… it destroys ordinary drill bits/hacksaw blades very quickly. I made up a backing plate out of stainless steel sheet for the bulb mount and haven't quite got the positioning perfect yet. It does look as if the beam pattern will be good when I've got it right though. I have taken the shielding off the dipped side and it makes a big difference, so just need to do a few repairs of things I found broken, then it's rewire time and Osram night breaker bulbs.
