Re: Just finished Headlight Mod. on FZS600 - gryphongryphon - 30-11-13

Thanks for your comment, I took bike out for a ride, and I knew something was missing, The Mirrors..... I had bought some new ones to fit in the existing tapped socket holes that already exist in the Fazers, noting I had to buy adapters as the right hand socket has a left hand thread. Here are a couple pics with new mirrors.
Also pic showing Stainless steel plate used mount clocks , which is also rubber mounted(4 rubbers) to stop vibration probs.

Re: Just finished Headlight Mod. on FZS600 - gryphongryphon - 01-12-13

Theres also cost of a piece of stainless to make back plate  wasnt expensive , I think it was 3 mm. thick, a bit over sized probably 2 mm be enough.

Sorry --- dont like it --each to their own and all that, but (i think) you have just spent all that money and gone backwards

Re: Just finished Headlight Mod. on FZS600 - gryphongryphon - 01-12-13

Thats ok like you said everyone to their own, I am a lot happier with it now, I think it looked dated before, where as now it has the classic bike look,
I like bikes like the XJR1300 and CB1300. Could be my next addition Smile

Could the boxeye lights and fairing be swapped for the foxeye setup...I'm not keen on the new look but safety has to be the important thing ....
LOVE THE COLOUR THOUGHWink

Re: Just finished Headlight Mod. on FZS600 - gryphongryphon - 01-12-13

About the look, if I want I can always revert back to original , or go for street fighter look with twin headlights  a la Street Triple , I had wondered about the latter ,still half tempted.

Re: Just finished Headlight Mod. on FZS600 - Beeblebrox2nd - 01-12-13

I'm reverting my streetfightered bike back to standard fairing/lights as the wee twin lights available for it are only there so it'll pass an MOT. Really, even in highbeam mode, there's no illumination on the roads. I may as well stick a torch on the front.
I like the look of your single headlight, as you say, reminiscent of the old XJR1200 style, especially in the yellow! Although I quite prefer the shape of the original Fazer fairing.

It looks like a hornet Smile

Good to hear! Do you know if they'd be ok with the original headlight fitting?

They're fine to use, as are the Osram Night Breaker bulbs, and anything is an improvement, but it's the reflective part of the headlight unit that is shite, so don't expect the same results as other bikes would have.
