Balance Weight Adhesive - nick crisp - 05-10-13

How can I get rid of this from gloss black wheels without removing paint? I must have 3 or 4 patches of it from previous tyre fits on each wheel now, and it all seems pretty solid, looking a proper mess  Sad

Balance weight adhesive removed - Snapper, how can I remove melted tyre rubber from all over my wheels?  :lol

No, still want to get rid of this adhesive.......

Re: Balance Weight Adhesive - snapper - 05-10-13

In all honesty I've no idea I have it on both my wheels , its like sticky black foam / I tried to scratch it of and got no where
even hot water didnt touch it !  anything caustic will damage the paint

A number of products available. Autosmart tardis is probably the daddy of them all, but you should be able to geta tarand glue removed from your local supermarket/halfords that will do the trick.

Just spray it on and let it dwell for a few minutes and then wipe off the glue Wink

Make sure and rinse it off thoroughly though, but it won't damage your wheels if you follow the. Instructions properly Smile

Oh, I should add, as this is not just glue, and probably still has some foam attached, you may need to pick off the bulk of the foam first before using whatever product you get, as the tar and glue remover won't necessarily break down the foam itself, just the glue Smile

Cheers Mick, will try that first.

No!!! petrol, it will do the trick

Just put some on a rag & rub hard. I have never damaged any paint work yet using brake cleaner.
