London police don't care about speeding? There are no police in Shetland? Re: What does this map tell us? - jon - 24-09-13 It tells me that there is a place in France called Brest! :rollin ( . )( . ) Re: What does this map tell us? - nick crisp - 24-09-13 That someone needs to tell Glasgow that points don't mean prizes? Re: What does this map tell us? - smithfz - 24-09-13 Interesting map Farjo. Seems like The Scottish taffic cops/ speed cameras are making the most of speed violation. However it is % per postcode and london/ england have a higher population than glasgow/ scotland so it might balance out it if the populations where remotely simlilar, just looks deceptive with the colours on the map. Excuses, excuses.... Anyway, there's probably loads of variables that make it all a load of shite - statistics, as we all know, are easily manipulated! Re: What does this map tell us? - smithfz - 24-09-13 Population - Scotland 5.295 million (2011) England - 53.1 million (2011) I think what the map is doing (and rather well) is making us scots look rather fast! and goes to show that Blue is fastest!! Re: What does this map tell us? - Bornagain again - 24-09-13 What it tells me is that people in the best bike areas are not stupid enough to get caught in their own patches ![]() Re: What does this map tell us? - nick crisp - 24-09-13 (24-09-13, 12:13 PM)smithfz link Wrote: Population - London population 8.3 million (2011) Maybe the fact that it's blank on the map means they treat it as a foreign country - it's foccin big enough! That's also something in excess of 24 million points - I would think that would be quite a lengthy ban, and sod payin that fine! :lol Re: What does this map tell us? - Chris - 24-09-13 There are certainly police in Shetland but being a smaller community then they generally know a lot of people so you're more likely to get off with a warning as long as you're not being a complete muppet. However, there is quite a big problem with drink driving up here so I'm surprised there isn't more points because of that. Chris Re: What does this map tell us? - chaz - 25-09-13 Maybe Glasgow points are for drink driving, these stay on 11 years, I've heard they like a drop up there? Re: What does this map tell us? - BBROWN1664 - 26-09-13 It tells me go to the Isle of Wigit if you want to avoid points but Glasgow if you want some. %per postcode means % per postcode so it maters not if there are 100 people in that postcode or 1,000,000 it is a % figure. And London isn't blank, well not all of it, if you zoom in on the map. Unless things are very different up there, it's quite exceptional to get given points for drinking rather than a ban, so drink driving along with other serious driving offences such as dangerous driving, are unlikely therefore to have much impact on these maps. |
