Reserve - JoeRock - 21-09-13 For all you fox eye owners out there, how far do you usually go on reserve? I've just had my light come on at 200 miles, apparently that means I've got 3.6L left before I'm running on empty, so if I did about another 20 miles before filling up I should in theory be okay. That said, I don't really want to find the claimed size of the tank is actually bigger than its realistic size and end up having to push the old girl to the nearest petrol station! Re: Reserve - elbrownos - 21-09-13 I've never run out of petrol but my empty light comes on around 230 miles and I would have no doubts about doing another 20 Re: Reserve - Paul - 21-09-13 For me I reckon when the warning light comes on I've got up to but not exceeding 40 miles left. I actually strapped a 5 litre can of fuel to the rack once and tested it and managed about 50 miles. Re: Reserve - Punkstig - 21-09-13 I've always aimed at no more than 30 miles and I've never been less than a litre away from empty! Here's an idea..........put some fuel in the tank! :lol Re: Reserve - mr self destruct - 22-09-13 I usually go about 180 miles when the light comes on, but it comes on after 40 so I'm beginning to suspect the sender's not quite behaving. ![]() Re: Reserve - simonm - 22-09-13 Stupid question ahoy time. So where do I fill up to ? Do I brim it ? I'm not sure where the over flow is and I don't want to be peeing fuel everywhere. I have the 99 model. I can see a 4mm or so hole in the tube above which seems to be a seal. Is the hole the over flow ? Re: Reserve - darrsi - 22-09-13 (22-09-13, 03:47 PM)simonm link Wrote: Stupid question ahoy time. You have a '99 but your profile says '00/'01, maybe you should change that as they are slightly different bikes? Just top up the fuel 'til it wants no more. ![]() Re: Reserve - simonm - 22-09-13 (22-09-13, 03:59 PM)darrsi link Wrote: [quote author=simonm link=topic=9987.msg103160#msg103160 date=1379861245] You have a '99 but your profile says '00/'01, maybe you should change that as they are slightly different bikes?
