FNG - TonyW - 09-09-13

Registered here a few weeks ago but only bought a Fazer today. All I need now is a licence :o
Passed the theory test today as well so a good day all round.

Re: FNG - Arfa - 09-09-13

Well it's a good start! You'll soon sort and realise the Fazer was the right choice.

Welcome Tony

Best of luck with the test man.

If you dont already know about it then get the front sprocket nut checked & make sure you have the uprated one on.

Cheers

Re: FNG - TonyW - 11-09-13

Judging by the rest of the bike I would guess that the sprocket nut has been done. Its a 14 year old bike that looks like its just come out the showroom. Is there an easy way to check it has been done?

Re: FNG - dBfazer600 - 11-09-13

Welcome Tony

Good luck with the test mate.

Download the manual hear http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php?action=downloads;cat=1 which will show you where to look.

Re: FNG - richfzs - 11-09-13

Pull the sprocket cover off (Dazs link will show how) and the nut holding the sprocket on should be 12mm thick. The original was only 9mm.

Re: FNG - TonyW - 11-09-13

I was given a printed out complete manual with the bike, (thank you previous owner) but the 12mm nut is good. I'll check it later on. Training course is now booked starting the 23rd with first refusal on next week if anyone cancels.

Re: FNG - noggythenog - 11-09-13

Let me know what nut youve got on dude

Im interested to know because it's mileage based more than age,if youve got a low miles bike with no previous foc-u affiliation chances are its the old nut.

If youve got no nut then its also fair to assume the same  Big Grin

Re: FNG - TonyW - 12-09-13

Didn't get a chance to check as I got a text saying the sofa my Mrs just ordered is being delivered anytime after 8am tomorrow  :eek  so had to throw out the old ones and move all the crap I'd hidden behind them. Should be able to do it after the delivery guys leave.
I'm told by the last owner that the bike only has only done about 4000 miles. it had a new clock fitted in 2002 at the MOT and its only done about 1000 miles since then. the MOT history confirms this. The condition of the bike says the same so it probably hasn't been done.
