Bar End Weights - Dead Eye - 03-09-13

For some reason, bar end weights just completely befuddle me  :\

I have just taken delivery of and fitted a set of nice new Renthal 758's but I need some bar end weights as they buzz like mad - my existing bars were just as bad and the buzzing has nothing to do with the Renthals

So, they are currently untouched. What do I do oh wise foccers and what do I buy...

I spotted these on eBay but they seem kinda expensive but are marked as for Renthal bars. Now, how are they fitted? Do these come with some sort of thing I put inside the bar or is that unnecessary in this case? Do I need to reuse whatever is inside by old bars?

At the end of the day, I don't want to buy something that ends up being useless and won't fit Sad

They say plug, but they also say weights, ive got a feeling they are just plugs & not for vibrations, i should have them tomorrow so ill weigh them & compare against the weights tomorrow night if you like?

Fazer originals?

Re: Bar End Weights - Dead Eye - 03-09-13

Maybe... but the originals aren't particularly heavy either...

I MAY still have some originals on my old rusty bars so I'll check that out tomorrow and see how heavy they are. If they aren't too light then I'll give them a try after a visit to B&Q for those Rawlplugs Wink Then its the usual test to see if the problem still exists, or to what degree it still exists. If the vibrations are still too annoying then I'll weight the weights I have in and make sure I buy heavier ones from eBay.

Unfortunately, most of the heavy duty ones are reasonably expensive at £30-40 but they weigh in at an impressive 400-500g

They're many miles from me...  :'(

Can a kindly foccer weigh their bar weights (stock) for Mr Dead?

Re: Bar End Weights - Dead Eye - 03-09-13

Ah yeah, sorry, forgot about that

Don't worry, I'll sort out things tomorrow if I can find my old old ones Tongue

Re: Bar End Weights - Dead Eye - 04-09-13

So, popped out in to the garage this morning and with some force managed to remove one of the OEM bar end weights... unfortunately it appears to be a completely different design where by the weight has a female thread which screws in to the bar instead which makes them totally useless for what I want to do Sad
