last minute i know....in desparate need of some "fazer time"....so going to blast it to `h`s cafe,dorchester on thames,oxon.....will be there at 12.30 / 1.00 ish today.....if anyones else is in need of a fix,it will be good to see you...

Yes, he was still there when I got there. I see you didn't buy the RG500 in the shop - on your money I would have thought you'd have it wrapped and delivered :lol

ah yes...after 4 years working seven days a week in the summer ive just realized that iam missing my "fazer time" so have decided to give up the summer job at the end of the season......watch out welsh + london foccers iam on my way :lol
the money is good but what price can be put on FAZER TIME......priceless........think i might treat myself to a new car,iam thinking lotus elise or audi tt........keeping all me bikes before you ask

Sorry guys didn't head your way in the end.
Found a new route near me and used up a life on a corner, bottled it and headed straight on instead of counter steering more. Really need to do a track day to learn the limits.

yeh,know what you mean........the lotus is the one i want,a good friend has the exige,,,,,same performance as the thou !!! cant stretch to one of those so thought about the elise s2.....will need a bigger garage :\

Wouldn't of thought so, it would be safer to push on track, no traffic can actually see round the corner etc. The IAM do a cornering skills day with instructors so was thinking about doing it with them.

Good answer Skip. It seems to me track days as generally referred to are for fun. If you want to learn about the limits on the road, a good advanced training course is surely the right thing to be doing. If you go looking for what you are capable of on track and then try to transfer that to road riding, you're asking for trouble. Yes, the 2 skill sets may cross, and you may improve your riding with both, but I don't think it does to confuse one with the other.

I am an advanced rider with the IAM, so i would say my road riding is fine for 99% of the time, its just sometimes if for whatever reason i go into a corner a bit HOT, I bottle it and instead of tipping it in more i straighten up, which is no good.
So all i was referring too was some way of improving my cornering confidence safely.
I am actually not interested in going fast on a track just somewhere where i can improve.
I am of the school of slow in fast out for corners.

So I think you deserve an apology from me as I seem to have misinterpreted where you were coming from on your original mention of track days.
If there's a foolproof way of recovering from going in too fast, I'm all ears!

I think if you can have the confidence to tip it more then that goes a long way, put it another way i have 5mm of chicken strips which i can't get rid of and i know that my bike and tyre will loose them as i have seen the photos on here recently.

The only way I can feel confident on fast twisty roads is to just concentrate 100% and go for it.
Weight transfer, keeping over the front of the bike, watching the "apex" of the bend to get clues as to where the road is going, counter steering, looking at where I want the bike to be etc etc - if I'm doing all that, I don't have time to be worried. Just keeping really busy, so doubt doesn't have time to creep in. If I have time to think about it, I'll cock it up!
Chicken strips are just another way to put pressure on yourself in my view. 100% concentration in the moment is what is needed.
This Lofo ride coming up, I know I'm going to mess this up cos I've built up the difficulty of Fish Hill bends too much in my head. If I can only relax and concentrate...these bends are a real test of how far you dare to lean the bike.
