Guys, what method is easiest to get the cover off and get the gear linkage out the way! Unscrew the linkage from both ends and remove that way or one end and footpeg off...................i am sure there is an easy way, the front cover is full of dried in caked on road crap and old chain lub, Sigh!

Guess that makes sense, have to replace swingarm anyway so will do it all together, someone was definitely not qualified to go near a swingarm when they bodged this one. I will just remove the lot together! Cheers Devil.

no special tools needed to get arm out personally i leave the rear wheel in and roll the lot out much easier

Re: Front Sprocket Cover - nsr500v4 - 12-08-13

Hmmmm never thought of leaving the wheel in, makes sense now you say that, i better loosen it all off though. Saves trying to hold it all up to remove. I knew the fazer forum would come in handy!  Big Grin

Re: Front Sprocket Cover - devilsyam - 12-08-13

make sure you have thinners or petrol to hand to clean off the caked up chain oil

Re: Front Sprocket Cover - nsr500v4 - 12-08-13

plenty thinners lying about, u cant beat grease and oil up to the armpits to keep you smiling!
